Wildflower : Anybody a little mad at the mother? *some spoilers*

She just lets her husband keep her daughter in a shed?! And beat her? Why didn't she even TRY to find some help, as the town obviously was willing to help as we see at the end.
Why didn't she even try and TALK to a DOCTOR about Alice's condition? And about that conditionsurely she showed signs of it before Alice's real dad died.
Why couldn't she try and get her medical help then??

i know, i had mixed feelings about the mother myself.

She was almost as responsible for Alice's abuse as the evil stepfather was!
