Westworld : anyone feel finale lacked an emotionally resounding quality?

anyone feel finale lacked an emotionally resounding quality?

I didn't feel very connected to the proceedings.

If you want to be taken seriously, you have to be a serious person.

Re: anyone feel finale lacked an emotionally resounding quality?

The only thing I liked emotionally was Maeve seeing the mother and daughter on the train and deciding to go back for her daughter. Even if those memories were fake she was going to have them forever, they were her reality. The two Doloreses scene was just weird and confused me.

I struggled through the entire finale but Thandie Newton deserves a medal for her performance despite the poor material

Re: anyone feel finale lacked an emotionally resounding quality?

I felt the finale just sort of dragged. They were trying to make too many points to take in. But I look forward to what they will do in Season 2.

You'd do all that for a part in a play?

The most painful is seeing Dolores and William come to terms with their fate and history.

I specially didn't care for Ford's final speech. I had to guess the showrunners were trying to strike a chord when they did a cutaway to Charlotte crying to his words *awkward* xD

At least I think they were finally honest in this last episode and called things by their proper name; Ford tosses the toy of the maze as if it was a piece of junk and promises a new narrative with "suprises and violence", period.

Re: anyone feel finale lacked an emotionally resounding quality?

Actually, I felt like the whole season was just a set up for the finale. I loved it, and it was my favorite episode. My heart broke that William was now so jaded and hateful towards Dolores, while she still (after all this time) still had memories and feelings for him.
