That's a bit racist. I think Renee is of partial Saami decent, that gives her the smaller looking eyes. Would you say Gong Li or Michelle Kwan has a narcassistic squint? No. This is racist.

If you call a person of Samoan descent fat, and get accused of being racist, the person who accuses you is acknowledging the stereotype that all Samoan people are fat. Assuming "fat" is derogatory at all, which is debatable. Especially with Samoans.

There are tons of photos of Renee with her eyes wide, and looking completely normal, and then there are others where she is squinting her eyes while pouting.

Have you heard of the Nuremberg defense? It's when people plead ignorance that what they've done is wrong. It was dismissed as invalid at the Nuremberg trials. So people are being racist when they make fun of her eyes because they are making fun of a racial trait, even if they don't know that it is a racial trait. I'm not saying THEY are racist, just ignorant. So I am telling them what they say is racist so maybe they'll know the full story behind what they're saying.

PS Her eyes are narrow. That's a fact. They might appear narrower or larger from photo to photo. But they are narrower than most Caucasians. She doesn't scrunch up her face, you would see lines around her eyes and brows. Her eyes are just narrow.

She DOES scrunch up her face, and she does pout. That is not her normal stance. It's something that she puts on. Go look at the photos for yourself.

My personal psychosis? I did a quick check of other posts you've made, and they're ALL like that one above. Just a bunch of insults. Why so angry? When you get angry and lash out for no reason, that IS a form of psychosis.

Ok, you want to stay on topic? Fine. In ref. to the Nuremberg defense, you are correct in stating it was formed by those Nazi officers who said they were simply following orders (the "orders is orders" doctrine). But more broadly, the inference was that they were only following orders and did not question how right/wrong their actions were, therefore they were not guilty through ignorance of their own actions. I think the philosophy of the defense was that when you do something without fully understanding what you're doing (in the original case because you are following military commands) you are yourself not completely guilty. Therefore, I think my original description of the Nuremberg is sound. In this case (i.e. the Zellweger skit), I think people who laugh at it, then are told about Zellweger's Sami background, can't turn around and say they didn't know what they were doing when they first laughed. They were laughing at what I think is a pretty racist joke. (And Renee Zellweger's Sami heritage is not "barely traceable", her mother was a Sami, born in Norway). Now if you don't care if the joke is racist or not, fine. End of story. But I think the joke is misinformed (and kinda lame, but that's an aside).

Now that I've said that, might I add that it was YOU who first changed the subject from a) the Zellweger skit to b) how stupid or insane or whatever I am. You haven't written anything that shows I am particularly stupid or psychotic, you've just hurled a series of abstract insults at me. As I said in my last comment, this seems to be ALL you do on these boards.

Would a racist joke be something like, "What do you say to a black man in a three piece suit?" "Will the defendant please rise." If I laugh at it would that be racist, or just bad taste? Would telling the joke be racist, in bad taste, or just funny? I mean I am a white guy, but I dont think its racist when black comics make fun of my inability to dance, so why would it be racist if I was pointing out through humor that blacks are arrested and sent to jail a lot. But isn't the joke about my inabilty to dance just as racist? This is why I get so confused. Its like is it ok to even say black, or is it African-American, or Afro-American, what about those men and women who are black but whose anstery dose not go back to Africa, like blacks whose anstery comes from Australia? What about white people whose anstery is South African? Aren't they African-Americans? Racism is strange, just because I hate everyone who isn't a WASP or a WASC (White Anglo-Saxon Catholic,)I am not sure is WASC is a real word or something I made up like beef, does that make me racist or just a xenophobe?
