This Is Us : Timeline of Jacks Death

i went and rewatched episode 5 to hear what Kate said about watching the game with her dad. she said growing up she watched it with him every single Sunday until she grew up and moved away and got out of the habit. then in 2006 she wanted to watch the game with her dad and they won so now that's just what she does (with the urn so I'm assuming it was with the urn on 2006 as well). my thought here though is with her wording she could mean her dad was still alive after she moved away which would make her grown at his time of death not the 15 yes old as seems to be the popular opinion. as far as the shots of them looking young at the funeral it may not have been intentional they look like teens from what we can see.. they may just look so much younger bc compared to being now 36 looking back at even 22 or so would make them seem young like how I'm about to be 34 but when i see pics of myself or friends in our early 20s I'm like omg we were just babies still! lol anyway it's 1am and I'm sleep deprived and rambling ?

They established with Kevin's conversation with the widow at the funeral that he and Olivia crashed and the shot of The Big Three at Jack's funeral that the kids were indeed teenagers when he died. The actor who plays Jack also confirmed that in an interview that another poster posted on this board.

The credits for this episode describe the actors as playing the kids at age 15. If they had been 19, the credits would have said: "Kevin at age 19". So we know that Jack dies when the kids are 15.

I have always thought her comment about not watching then watching again was that she did with her dad, he died and then in 2006 she felt nostalgic and watched it with the urn. And they won. I know it sounds kind of creepy, but it is totally understandable to those with any sort of remains that make them feel their loved one is with them.

I felt that way too. Also I think the big 3 were older than 15 when Jack died because Jack attended the football game where Randall and Kevin played against each other and a college coach was there. I think a college coach would be scouting players older than 15. And, in the final scene of the last episode the (last) pan of the big 3 was about a 1/4 view of what appears to be amazingly similar to modern day Kate's face. So I think the big 3 were about 20 years old and that Jack may have died during one of the 9/11 events.
