Yes indeed. All shown backwards as I recall.
Excellent film.
The other scene I like best is the wedding lunch, set in a field, where he is eating through the meal until he sees people that shouldn't be there and realises there's something not quite right.

I just finished watching it and I couldn't agree with you more Fleurus!Five threads really do belittle this bittersweet little diamond of a film.I love french pessimism and french melancholy in french films.
