The Office : Last episode, regarding Pam
Re: Last episode, regarding Pam
Agreed! They probably saw an extremely edited version of what happened with them, I'm sure the documentary only had time for the highlights of the last few years. Without seeing the whole picture like we did, it might have seemed like Jim was a saint and Pam was unreasonable.
Re: Last episode, regarding Pam
That all depends on whether you take the Jim/Pam storyline in season 9 seriously. Of course it's all nonsense. One of the biggest mistakes, of many, that the writers made.
Re: Last episode, regarding Pam
Yes! And she left art school to be with Jim, just like he left his job to be with her. But somehow no one remembered that.
Re: Last episode, regarding Pam
Although to be fair there's a difference between school and a job/career. Pam went to school and ended up failing and that's the only reason she came back yes she missed Jim, but she did this schooling for 3 months and didn't come home only until she realized that she wasn't going to make it as an artist. Jim was in a successful career and his business was starting to boom when he put his family first.
Re: Last episode, regarding Pam
I want to know how she managed to get into Pratt College in the first place.
Re: Last episode, regarding Pam
Jim gave up his successful business that made him happy. Gave it up willingly for love.
Pam flunked out of art school. It wasn't willing and it wasn't successful. Yes, she might have been able to go back and possibly pass the second time around, but she made no sacrifice like Jim did.

Re: Last episode, regarding Pam
That thing about Jim came from the Jim/Pam storyline in season 9, which was utterly ridiculous. So that doesn't count. Pam did think about doing the course again, but the idea of being apart from Jim for another six months or whatever was enough to make her come home. In fact the decision to go to art college was a sacrifice. It's strange the number of people who have suddenly appeared on the board, who ignore everything else and head for a Pam thread. Sometimes making the same comments. Hmm.
Re: Last episode, regarding Pam
Suddenly, no. I've been a fan since day one and come to the message boards often. I comment on the Pam threads, because she was a horrible person in so many episodes, and some fans just don't get that. Season 9 is the exception. Her anger and hurt were justified, since it was all Jim's fault for lying to her and ditching her.
I agree with you about season 9's storyline. Having Jim in Philly for his business could have been very funny. It had potential to show how chaotic and humorous Pam and Jim's lives were without each other. (Like the episode when Darryl realized what a slob Jim was. It was funny to see Jim devolve into a helpless oaf without Pam in his life).
Instead, the writers turned Jim into a devious liar and took the show down a serious road, which no fan had ever asked for. Then they had some unknown microphone guy turn into a main character for several episodes. real bad.

Re: Last episode, regarding Pam
I understand why fans don't get it, because its not true. I've been with the show from the beginning, and the things people say about her I just don't see. It appears to be in peoples imaginations or they have an axe to grind. It only appears to happen online where people are anonymous. There is an unfortunate trend with some US sitcoms, not UK but US, where a female member of the cast, always female, gets picked on. Besides Pam (Angela who was truly bitchy hardly gets mentioned), there is Penny in The Big Bang Theory, at one point Rachel in Friends, Lena Dunham in Girls that I know of. Some of the comments verge on the psychotic at times. One poster in season 9 of The Office, posted that he would kidnap Pam, cut her throat, rape her corpse and dump her body in the Office. I get criticised for sticking up for her, but when you read comments like that like that you can understand why. I know she's fictional but even so. So when I read online comments about how awful she is I treat them with the contempt they serve. Watch Turk come in.
Re: Last episode, regarding Pam
I would never say Pam was constantly and consistently an awful person. But she certainly had her moments.
Re: Last episode, regarding Pam
You previously said Pam was horrible in so many episodes, so in fact you did say she was consistently an awful person. Don't lie about what you said, it only makes you more of an ass.
Re: Last episode, regarding Pam
The Office aired 200 or so episodes, and Pam was indeed horrible in many of them, so I am correct. And if she is horrible in about 25 or 30 episodes, that isn't consistently awful. It's more like sporadically awful. So I am correct again.

Re: Last episode, regarding Pam
That is rubbish mate. What it boils down to is you did say she was consistently awful.. Now admit you were lying and stop acting like a twat.

Oh Coco, don't post about things you know nothing about it makes you look like a tit. Though you generally post about things you know nothing about, so no change there. You must be happy you'll get your wish for me to leave the board, but then so will everybody else. It's a, it's a, it's a sin. Snicker.
