Suspiria : David Gordon Green!!! Now it CAN'T be bad :)

Relax everyone, he is a fine director.

This is a really interesting choice. I think you may be right. It seems like it could be a good High Brow remake now, not some BS Michael Bay over-produced garbage.

I normally hate the idea of remake but somehow this one has got me interested,and I'm a huge ARGENTO fan.

The only way this remake can possibly work is if David Gordon Green and crew make it work on its own merits as its own film. The Argento films that "work" did this, each one having its own quality or "personality." Suspiria was Suspiria and Opera was Opera, and they managed to work as productions of interest, even for study.

Not familiar with this director so I've been looking through the titles he directed. I can't say they fill me with hope. What will he bring to the direction given Argento is such an artist and stylist? What films do you recommend? Undertow interests me most, but has a lower rating than others.

After Your Highness and The Sitter, this movie turning out to be bad looks entirely possible.

I like the fact that he avoids using CGI Your Highness is the first movie i've seen in ages where puppets were used instead of fully CGI characters.. the practical effects and gore were impressive as well

This guy is known for making raunchy comedies. How the hell is he the right fit? Maybe Argento should direct a episode of Eastbound & Down or maybe a Pineapple Express sequel?

Argento's film is a classic. Why remake it and dumb it down. Most horror remakes do not make alot of money at the box office and RARELY are good or anywhere near as good as the original. Release the original on Blu Ray, re-release it to theaters. Argento's original is unlike most horror movies seen. I would hate for some comedy director to come along, use similar visuals and get the credit for being groundbreaking and different. Agento is not a household name in the U.S. when it comes to movies. His work often gets overlooked even though by most hardcore horror fans he's a true master of the genre and created some amazing films.

He didn't start out making stupid ass movies like Your Highness and Pineapple Express (though I do really enjoy Eastbound & Down).

His movie George Washington is brilliant. If Green works Suspiria in that vein and not like his dumb ass comedies, this could end up being a pretty great movie.

For me, Argento's best work come off like dreams. George Washington has that atmosphere in spades.

But I can see people looking at Green's recent work and thinking that him directing a remake of Suspiria is a horrible idea.

a remake of suspiria is horrible enough idea on its own. haha, add green to the mix and its bound for disaster.
