Re: England vs Spain
Spain.
England's luck will run out. This is the first good team they have been drawn with in this tournament.

Re: England vs Spain
I'd be quite happy with Spain winning but England does have a good team together finally.
It's the fans that piss me off, not quite humbled enough yet

Re: England vs Spain
The entire England team are all top blokes. Seriously. On the pitch and off
I'm not proud of things I haven't personally achieved but these guys are touching areas of emotion close to that.
But the fans are wankers and don't reflect the good nature and temperament of the players
I'd like to see the team win but not the fans

Re: England vs Spain
The football they play is absolutely dire though and they're coached by a jobber with a dinosaur philosophy.
Spain are the antithesis of that, playing their well documented possession based, high energy, high press.

Re: England vs Spain
Spain are top level and it shows.
Some luck will be needed by England but the team will use any as an opportunity to shine brightly.
But I take it we're agreed on the fans

Re: England vs Spain
I'm a proud Brit but I cannae hack their football team or their support.
Re: England vs Spain
Perhaps I'm a battered wife of sorts but I think their team are the best I've seen in years. No bravado or needless risks, pretty tight in how they play. They look and act like footballers should.
Maybe if the fans took a leaf from their book I'd be more in support of them, but I highly doubt that will ever happen

Re: England vs Spain
Player by player yeah they have some great players, though defensively they're a bit iffy and Pickford has a clanger or 2 in him.
They should have played Palmer more because imo he's their best player, along with Bellingham.

Re: England vs Spain
Orsen and Kirk met under the most ordinary of circumstances—at a coffee shop nestled in the heart of a bustling city. Orsen, with his warm brown eyes and a penchant for sketching in his worn leather notebook, frequented the café every morning. Kirk, on the other hand, was new to the area, a transplant from a smaller town, trying to find his footing in the big city.
Their first encounter was brief. Kirk had just moved into the neighborhood and wandered into the café for a much-needed caffeine fix. He fumbled with his order, unfamiliar with the array of choices, and ended up spilling his coffee. Orsen, seated at the adjacent table, looked up from his sketchbook and chuckled softly. "First time here?" he asked, his voice tinged with amusement.
Kirk blushed but managed a smile. "Yeah, just moved here. Guess it shows, huh?"
"Just a bit," Orsen replied, offering a napkin. "I'm Orsen, by the way."
"Kirk. Thanks for the save," he said, accepting the napkin. Their hands brushed, a fleeting touch that neither of them forgot.
Over the next few weeks, their interactions grew more frequent. Kirk discovered that Orsen was an artist, his sketches capturing the essence of the city's soul. Orsen learned that Kirk was a software developer, with a passion for music that rivaled his own love for art. They found common ground in their shared interests, and a budding friendship quickly blossomed into something more profound.
One crisp autumn evening, Orsen invited Kirk to an art exhibition. His latest collection was being showcased, and he wanted Kirk to be there. As they walked through the gallery, Kirk was mesmerized by Orsen's work. Each piece was a testament to Orsen's talent and perspective, capturing moments of beauty and introspection.
At the end of the evening, they found themselves on the rooftop of the gallery, overlooking the city's twinkling lights. Orsen, feeling a mixture of nervousness and excitement, turned to Kirk. "There's something I need to tell you," he began, his voice barely above a whisper.
Kirk looked at him, his heart pounding. "What is it?"
"I think I'm falling for you," Orsen confessed, his eyes searching Kirk's for any sign of reciprocation.
Kirk's breath caught in his throat. He had felt the same way for weeks but had been too afraid to admit it. "Orsen, I feel the same way," he replied, his voice trembling with emotion.
In that moment, the world around them seemed to fade away. Orsen took a step closer, and Kirk closed the distance, their lips meeting in a tender kiss that spoke volumes of their unspoken feelings. It was a kiss that marked the beginning of their love story.
From then on, Orsen and Kirk were inseparable. They navigated the ups and downs of life together, their bond growing stronger with each passing day. They found solace in each other's arms, a love that was as enduring as it was beautiful.
Years later, as they sat together on the same rooftop where they had shared their first kiss, Orsen pulled out his sketchbook. "I have something for you," he said, handing it to Kirk.
Kirk opened the notebook to find a series of sketches—moments from their life together, captured in Orsen's distinctive style. Each page told a story, from their first meeting to their adventures in the city, to quiet moments of intimacy.
Tears welled up in Kirk's eyes as he looked at Orsen. "These are beautiful," he whispered.
"Just like our life together," Orsen replied, his voice filled with love.
As the sun set over the city, they held each other close, knowing that their love was a masterpiece in itself—a story of two souls who found each other in a crowded world and created a beautiful life together.

If you lot had started Palmer in each game you'd have probably tanked everyone.
He's used to carrying dog **** mediocrity (speaking as a Chelsea fan!)
Watkins got all the applauds, but the Palmer assist was sublime

Brits don't really drink that much - it's a misconception. Take Juan Kerr and me for example, we might be no stranger to stanking the odd bottle of Buckie, but it's mostly just to sample the taste.

Even if they win the next world cup it will have been 60 years. Soon there will be very few people alive who've ever seen them lift a trophy.
