Real Time with Bill Maher : Thoughts On Tomi Lahren, Sam Harris, Eric Michael Dyson, Jason Kander
Re: Thoughts On Tomi Lahren, Sam Harris, Eric Michael Dyson, Jason Kander
I really don't like Sam Harris. There's something extremely arrogant about Bill and Sam discussing critiques of Islam. It's certainly not perfect but I don't look to them as good guides. I immediately tone out on them, their arrogance makes me cringe hard.
Tomi really didn't get "her ass handed to her" as many claim. They should've been much tougher. There's much evidence that she does empathize with BLM for example but she berates them anyways and spreads ignorance I doubt she even believes simply to build her character and career.

But when they do the same with Christianity, they don't get lambasted by liberals.

Maybe because Islam is so marginalized and feared that they don't need another blow from arrogant white men. Perhaps

"Maybe because Islam is so marginalized and feared that they don't need another blow from arrogant white men."
BUT how about an ex-Muslim, non-white man takes Islam apart for you? Maybe that'll seem less arrogant
Islam is the single worst thing that has ever happened to the Middle East. It has kept it in the dark for over 1400 years, and people there were actually MORE advanced and on the cutting-edge before it. Pre-Islam the Middle East was home to advances in Algebra, medicine, agriculture, law, science, women's rights, etc.
Then a power-mad trader named Muhammad got fed up with not being the ruler of Meccan society, so he raised an army to eventually kill or convert all the pagans.
I don't think Jesus ever existedmy posts about him being a fictional character are sadly deletedbut he never raised an army and conquered people. Jesus was cruxified (so the legend goes) while Muhammed HAD people cruxified, and I think that really shows you the difference.
The attitudes holding back what is now known as the Islamic world are a direct result of Islam, the ideology IS the problem.

Some thoughts on the guests
Sam HarrisI agree with him about religionIslam AND Christianitybut there's just something uninvolving about his Real Time appearances. I like that he was the first guest tonight, as he particularly misrepresents himself when he interacts with the panel.
Tomi LahrenNormally intolerable, but did a good job as the conservative. She didn't monopolize the panel like a lot of conservatives do, and let other people talkthis may have been due to self-consciousness, but it struck me as more confident than a lot of conservatives who try to overcompensate.

Eric Michael DysonAm I the only non-white person in America that's an atheist? I hate that most of the famous black intellectuals are former preachers or people with Reverend in front of their name (Sharpton, Jackson, Cornell West, Dyson). You can see Dyson's background come into play when he literally kept interrupting his "serious" moments to say he would take people's money. Yeah, he played it off like he was joking, but if someone had wanted to give him a big check after the show, do you really think he would've turned it down? It's hard for people who didn't grow up around this to see what a phony this type of "inspirational" opportunist is, and it's hard to hate until you've seen your grandmother give money she didn't have away to the local preacher so he could "fight" for you with itwhen most of the time he's just using it for himself. Dyson hasn't missed too many meals lately, I can tell that.
Rick WilsonSupposedly a Republican, but I found myself liking him the most. I'm a liberal, but it seems like people like Wilson are doing a better job of making our points than Kander, Dyson, or Harris.
