Money Monster : Sacagawea
Re: Sacagawea
It was a code word that Patty used to basically tell Lee, "Shut up."
Re: Sacagawea
Thanks for explaining! However, I would have liked for the filmmakers to explain why she used that word - it had to have some inside meaning, no?
If it was just a 'shut up', I'd think that's a missed chance, would have been a nice extra touch to the Clooney-Roberts relationship if it had some extra meaning.

Re: Sacagawea
I think they used that word because "safety words" tend to be things that won't come up during the work you're doing - in this case, it's unlikely anyone in front of or behind the camera would use the word "Sakagewea" on a TV show about Wall Street.
Re: Sacagawea
They could have done more to explain that.
Re: Sacagawea
Why ?
After the first couple of times, it becomes clear that it is a safe word. You could expand that with explanations and everything, but why bother ?

Re: Sacagawea
In the German dubbing, it was Saskatchewan. :D
I'm pretty sure almost no one in Germany has any idea who Sacagawea was, whereas at least some people will have heard of the Canadian province.

Re: Sacagawea
Don't be so sure. Germany has a healthy fascination with the American West. I bet quite a few Germans know exactly who she was.

Re: Sacagawea
In the czech subs she says he keeps 'wondering off', like he's off topic. so that could explain it.
Re: Sacagawea
Which would suggest that it doesn't mean "shut up" in the film, so much as "keep on track".
Re: Sacagawea
short for "shutthef*#kup"
Re: Sacagawea
It was code for "shut up".
After she said it the first or second time, Lee said "My producer wants me to shut up." Which means the film did explain what it meant.
Like the other poster above mentioned, because she is in his ear and at times asking him to say or do things, by using a code word instead of "shut up" it lessens the likelihood that he would accidentally repeat the word out loud.

Re: Sacagawea
Who are Lewis and Cloak?
Re: Sacagawea
After Lewis was murdered, Cloak added a new member to his comedy act and took first billing. The new act was called Cloak and Dagger. They gave an IPO for other spys on Wall Street.
Good explanations of the code word by others above.
