Messiah of Evil : It's THE Walter Hill In The Movie

I was surprised to see that the Walter Hill in this movie, is the Director/Producer/Writer Walter Hill.
It makes me wonder who or what got him involved, as he had already written a few successful big budget screenplays and worked as assistant director on a few big movies long before this was made.
The only other movie he is credited as an actor (Up Yours - A Rockin' Comedy) he was also assistant director, so presuming he knew someone involved?

I moderated the commentary track for the soon-to-be released Code Red DVD of MESSIAH OF EVIL and Walter Hill's cameo at the beginning of the film was one of the first questions that I posed to Willard Huyck and Gloria Katz. Willard reflected on Hill's involvement as best as he could remember, but the most amusing story regarding Hill's cameo comes from editor Billy Weber in our making-of documentary which will also be featured on the DVD. Weber reunited with Hill when he took a job on Hill's THE WARRIORS years after the two worked together on MESSIAH OF EVIL.

I don't want to spoil anything, though, so watch for the disc! Our transfer presents this film in its original, theatrical aspect ratio of 1:2.35 for the first time on any video format!

We also FINALLY landed an interview with cinematograhper Stephen M. Katz last Sunday and are dropping his comments into the documentary as of this writing (the editor, Damon Packard, of REFLECTIONS OF EVIL and SPACEDISCO ONE, may already have finished that yesterday).

Can't wait! This movie is one of my absolute favorites, and having it in a pristine transfer will make it even better! Really looking forward to it.

Just want to confirm - is this disc REALLY going to happen???
Reason I ask is Code Red have been talking about releasing THE SILENT SCREAM, BUTCHER,BAKER,NIGHTMARE MAKER, HUMAN EXPERIMENTS etc etc for some time now and to the best of my knowledge not one of these titles has been released!
Director Denny Harris recorded a commentary for the SILENT SCREAM release a long while ago and he has died since!!
Excuse my cynicism,but this (ie.MESSIAH OF EVIL) must be one movie I want a great dvd release of at the present moment more than most other movies I can think of

Have you heard the song "Them" by the rapper Mr. Hyde? I think you should.

When I saw his name in the credits, I figured it was probably the same Walter Hill because I read that he was basically in the same circle of friends as Huyck and Katz, filmmakers who got their start in the seventies.
