From a nightmare job in NYC area, then driving in a limo in ugly NYC, then to LA, then to an Islandfun stuff, nice music, Meg Ryan was amazing, Ossie Davis was greatfilm went downhill after getting to the Island but was still an enjoyable movieAbe Vigoda is still alive, which seems impossible lol

I have always loved it! Saw it in the theater as a kid. I think you're right about it becoming a bit of a mess after they get to the island. It becomes a little to quirky and hokey. Leading up to that it's a movie that hits all the notes you want in a flick. Makes you sad, makes you laugh, has adventure, has a great theme and message. Own this movie. Watching it now on HBO.
