It's rather irritating, isn't it?
Anyone who seems to support marriage, whether opposite or same sex, and harps on about the 'love' and 'commitment' that a marriage requiresnever seem to stick it out. And I was hoping hers would work out, just as I was hoping that Mellissa Etheridge's would work out, and Matt Lucas's would work out. But Etheridge's marriage ended in a really, really nasty divorce. And Lucas' ex committed suicide shortly after they split.
Still, Elton John and David Furnish are still together, so here's hoping that that marriage works out.
I wonder if many of these marriages occurred because folks thought that now that they 'could they should'? Marriage is a massive, massive deal, and not to be taken lightly. Too many people don't realise that.

I'm sorry were you under the impression that gay couples are inherently different from straight ones? Have you taken a gander at divorce rates recently?

Exactly. I don't understand what the OP is making a big fuss about. People who get married can sometimes get divorced. What, just because marriage is hard to obtain for gay couples they have to have the perfect marriage? That makes no sense.

So, you fight for gay marriage and turn around and get a divorce; just like the first lesbian couple that crammed it down our throats.
It has nothing to do with being GAY. That's their point! We're all alike in what we do! People get married. People get divorced. It doesn't always work. We straight couples have been cramming it down throats too! Or haven't you noticed?

Agreed TS. The funny thing is they fought so hard for it to, and her marriage lasted just 3 years. Hope it was worth it. LOL.
