House Hunters : "And this is a laminated floor … " (in complaining tone)
Re: "And this is a laminated floor … " (in complaining tone)
This has always been a pet peeve of mine. If you can't tell the difference between something such as laminate or hardwood, then you really have no basis for it to be a "must have." They want it because they think they are supposed to want it to keep up with the Joneses. Plus even if they can tell the difference, they can't even come up with a reason why they do or do not want *fill in the blank." Some people have actual reasons and that's fine. But more often than not, they have no clue.
Re: "And this is a laminated floor … " (in complaining tone)
I suppose it has a lot to do with the resale value, but again that's still just a superficial factor. I understand laminates last a lot longer, wear better and are easier to take care of. Sounds like a plus to me!
Re: "And this is a laminated floor … " (in complaining tone)
I almost don't like watching this show anymore because of all the complaining about stuff like that. People are so snobbish. Can't stand when they act like they can't live with laminate floors and laminate counter tops or any other thing that is not how they wanted it. I've seen so many nice homes people turn their noses up to. I did not get all the nice upgraded things in the last home we bought but I was very grateful I was able to buy the house. I don't know why I watch anymore. All I do is yell at the tv and want to smack some of these people.

Re: "And this is a laminated floor … " (in complaining tone)
Just saw an episode and the wife loved the house but simply couldn't live there bc it didn't have a fireplace lol. And another couple didn't want a house because there was no doggy door. The real estate agent even said.. "install a doggie door! You don't base whether you buy a house or not bc it doesn't have a doggie door"
Re: "And this is a laminated floor … " (in complaining tone)
When people are spending their money they should get what they want. If I wanted a house with a fireplace I would not buy one without it. If I want real wood floors I am not going to buy fake wood. I don't get people on here calling people snobs because they refuse to settle.
Re: "And this is a laminated floor … " (in complaining tone)
Yes I feel like if they want something then by all means get it., but I wouldn't base my decision on a new house on something that can't be fixed. So not buying a house bc it doesn't have a doggie door? Install one after you buy it! You hate the colors of the inside and won't buy it bc of that? Paint it! It doesn't have a fireplace Install one. That's what they actually ended up doing.
My griping is based on two things. 1) they usually gripe about something small that can be fixed relatively easy, like the doggie door
They gripe about such small items. They don't complain bc it was 2 bedrooms instead of 4. They don't complain bc it was two stories and one is in a wheel chair. They base their decisions on small things
2)They make such a big deal about trivial items and seem spoiled. "I couldn't POSSIBBLY live in a house with tile counter tops" as an example. It's that they make what the average person thinks is small into HUGE problems. I saw one episode where they literally didn't buy a house bc the master bathroom did not have double sinks. And the wife acted like it was a prison for not having it. "There is no way I could survive here!"
So yes I get what you are saying. It's just they pick small things and turn it into drama. The average person may want these things, but I don't think they would act like some of these people do and look like spoiled kids not getting their way. It's subjective, I know, and maybe you don't think they act spoiled. But to me they do, and that's my complaint.

He COULDN'T EVEN TELL that it was real wood, and starts complaining.
Some of these snobby people's standards can be pretty ridiculous. You just wanna shake them.
