I can't imagine watching this show when it aired and waiting to see what happened between Ross and Rachel once she shows up to the airport but he's with Julie. How did people react when this episode aired originally?

The show wasn't popular yet at that point. The ratings were low for it and NBC considered cancelling it but they decided to give it a chance with another season and re-aired season 1 all summer where nothing good was on and it picked up a larger audience and when season 2 premiered the ratings skyrocketed

The ratings were never low, liar. It was #8 in ratings. It got more popular but at no point was it in danger of cancellation.

Look into it. They did consider cancelling it cause it underperformed according to NBC standards.
