I spritz my hair twice a day with these essential oil mixtures. A little goes a long way. Clove is my favourite so far, but with Christmas coming up, peppermint feels and smells very festive.

I love it. They make "hair perfume" that you can buy, but I figured,….eeewww! That's loaded with all sorts of drying alcohol and chemicals. This way, not only can I control the strength of the fragrance, but it's not damaging to my hair. Some of the essential oils have healing components for the scalp.
It's so much cheaper to just mix a few drops of essential oils in water and mist your hair. Imagine, in the summer you could try lemon oil or various citrus scents. In the Spring, you could try lavender, violet or rose. I like Bulgarian rose in particular. Unlike rose perfume, the essential oil is very clean and natural.
Cinnamon and clove smell like gingerbread!

I like that it not only smells good, but that's it's good for the scalp

Quite true! You can also spritz it on your wet hair out of the shower and massage into your scalp. It's so much less expensive than any of the big brand names that claim to do the same thing.

Clove is for teeth, NOT scalp!
My own recipe had people begging for it. I haven't used it in a couple years. I should. Peppermint is too much for scalp in winter.
My main is Rosemary with a tiny bit of tea tree for decongesting. I forgot what else I put in it. Oh yeah, Cedar and a couple more.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You are thinking of eugenol.
Essential oils are too strong to be applied directly to the skin without being diluted, either with water or a carrier oil, such as grapeseed oil.
Peppermint, Tea Tree, Clove Bud, Camphor, Oregano and Rosemary all have disinfecting, antifungal, and/or antibacterial properties.

Spray it on your cats.
But only on them.

Holiday hair pick-me-up (Essential Oils)
Step #2: Fill spray bottle with purified water
Step #3: Add several drops of essential oil. I use Clove Bud or Peppermint.
Step #4: Spritz over hair. The water evaporates and diffuses the aromatic essential oils lightly on the hair. It's perky for festive occasions, plus both of these particular oils have cleaning and healing properties. Smells luscious and it's healthy!
