I met both Peter Graves and Fess Parker. Peter on the set of IM and Fess on the set of Daniel Boone. I was treated with great kindness and respect. Peter introduced me to the cast: Martin Landau, Barbara Bain and Peter Lupus. He didn't have to, but he did. Fess Parker, had me sit right beside him, on the set of Daniel Boone and he introduced me around to the guest cast that day. One of the guests was the actor William Smith (of Laredo fame). And asked me about myself (and I gushed about his Davy Crockett).

Mr. Walker is right, both were class acts.

I never met Robert Culp or Pernel Roberts, but admired their body of work from afar.

RIP, Fess, Peter, Pernel and Robert.

Thanks for the article.
They were all entertaining actors and great role models for young and old.

Re: Clint Walker talks about Peter Graves and Fess Parker

I never get tired of seeing the old westerns. I cry at times because I feel such a loss of innocence. Todays movies are so filled with gratuitous sex and viol1354ence. I suppose this is why I will always watch Cheyenne, the Virginian, have Gun, Will Travel, Bonanza and others. I admire you Mr. Walker and respect you very much.

I feel the same way and I do still watch the Westerns you've listed and then some. I remember watching Cheyenne when I was little, and The Virginian, and I hoped for years that they would rerun them both, finally they have, and to my great enjoyment.
