Cliff Emmich : A great actor and very nice man.

A great actor and very nice man.

This year, money has been very tight. I only gave Christmas presents to my nephew and two nieces. They're all still young and they expect something from me every year. LOL. Actually, I love them to death and it's a pleasure to spoil them. :)

As I mentioned, money has been very tight this year, so I had to be creative about Christmas presents. Everyone in their household loves the "Halloween" movies. I've tried to hook them up with as many autographs from the "Halloween" film series as I can. They didn't have one of Cliff Emmich, who is best known to horror fans as Mr. Garrett from "Halloween II".

I found out to my absolute amazement that he was listed in the phonebook. I took a chance one day, gathered my courage, and called him up. He was the nicest man! I explained that I wanted to provide autographed photos for 5b4my family and he couldn't have been more accommodating.

He got out his pen and paper and started writing. He wanted to know everyone's names and what type of photo to provide. He explained that he didn't have very many photos from "Halloween II", but he did say that he had some nice photos they might like from his career. I thanked him and wished him the best for a Merry Christmas.

A week later, I got a package in the mail from him containing a grand total of five autographed photos! One was from "Little House On The Prairie". Another was from "Bret Maverick". Another was from the movie "Thunderbolt and Lightfoot". Another was from "Payday".

The biggest surprise was the fifth and final photo. It was personalized to me and was of Mr. Garrett in death from "Halloween II". This fan couldn't have been happier! (I didn't even ask for a photo for myself.) My family loved their photos. When my twelve-year-old niece saw hers, she hollered out, "That's the guy from Halloween II!"

I just wanted to share with my fellow movie fans that, in additon to being a fine character actor, Mr. Emmich is also a fine human being. Thank you so much for the photos, Mr. Emmich. Merry Christmas to you and all my fellow imdb users!

Re: A great actor and very nice man.

That's a wonderful story. Cliff Emmich was excellent as Mr. Garrett in "Halloween II." It's nice to know that besides being a great actor, he's also a great human being.

I write bios, therefore I am.

Re: A great actor and very nice man.

Cliff Emmich has done it again! Last week, he sent me two nice autographed photos from his roles on "Little House On The Prairie" and his film debut "Payday". He also signed my DVD sleeves for "Halloween II" and "Halloween: 25 Years of Terror" which were both previously signed by cinematographer Dean Cundey.

This is another great response from a great actor and fine man. He is so nice to accommodate a fan like me. God bless him.

Re: A great actor and very nice man.

He sure does. Many A-List stars could learn a few things from this "working actor". He definitely goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Re: A great actor and very nice man.

Wow! That's just wonderful of him. Thanks posting it. I love how creative you were with Christmas gifts too. You just don't see that kind of creativity that much any more. Your family will always treasure those gifts from you and from him. Of course now you have to top yourself each year. Lol Just kidding.

This is one reason I love these message boards. Sad to see them go.
