Christy : What ever happened to Margaret?
Re: What ever happened to Margaret?
Well, one of the reasons I suspect Margaret was so desperate for Neil to take her back is because she thought she would get sick and die alone. I'm not sure if the book mentions anything about it, though.
Re: What ever happened to Margaret?
I believe the sequel movies have NOTHING to do with the tv series. See the first of the tv movies basically starts off with christ being there for a few months, with little relationship between herself, david and doc macneil. Margaret is not mentioned in the series, except for macneil possibly mentioning that he had a dead wife.
also in the books margret never reappears, correct? Again, I'm not 100% sure but margret really died in the books. In fact when i bought the christy series and watched them I ws so surprised with that plot twist!

Re: What ever happened to Margaret?
In the book, Margaret never appearsshe died in childbirth before Christy came to Cutter Gap. It's really sad, even though Christy ends up with Neil.
Re: What ever happened to Margaret?
I certainly would not take the sequel movies to heart. I am very unsure as to why they had "Christy" marry Neil. I think they should have stayed more with the facts of Lenora Whitaker (Catherine Marshall's mother) life, she married John A. Wood (David Grantland) in real life.

Re: What ever happened to Margaret?
Margaret fell of a cliff at the end of the tv series, and so, tragically, she diedagain. But this time for good. Christy stands between the two men she loves and makes a choice, which is best represented by this video

Re: What ever happened to Margaret?
Yeah, but:
1. In real life there was no MacNeill, only Leonora and the preacher, so she didn't have to choose.
2. Yet, in the book there's a doctor, and it suggests that Christy chooses him.
3. And the most important: Leonora Whitaker =/= Christy Huddleston, the book is not her biography. It's only "based on", or "inspired by"

Yeah, I know. That's just my version of how it ended lol
I glad Neil and she got together in the end. David was a pansy. Neil is a manly man. :-D

Re: What ever happened to Margaret?
I loved this show and had such a crush on the preacher when I was a teenage boy. Hmmm a few things wrong with that sentence
Re: What ever happened to Margaret?
Yes, but look at Little House on the Prairie. In real life, Mary never married, Albert never existed, and the family did not stay in Walnut Grove long. They took some creative liberties. Also in the Christy books, Tom, Fairlight, and Lundy all die. They were all kept alive in the series. In the movies, Fairlight and Lundy did die, but Tom didn't.
Re: What ever happened to Margaret?
I thought I remember somewhere that Margaret did indeed die of TB, but am not sure where I got that idea. Although she kept coming back to Neil, I always felt that she didn't love him as much as enjoy the attraction she seemed to be able to arouse in him for her.

Re: What ever happened to Margaret?
The series ended just after Margaret returned to Neil. The movies did not pick up after the series. However, in the movie, when Dr. Ferrand is explaining to David about how he fell in love with Miss Alice he says that she was reading to children with TB, an illness that would claim her own daughter. So Margaret died of TB.
