Barbra Streisand : If I ever meet her- here is what I will ask her:

If I ever meet her- here is what I will ask her:

Oh Barbra! So nice to meet you! My favorite movie of ALL TIME is Hello Dolly! You were so wonderful in it!
What was it like working with 2 Hollywood icons; Gene Kelly and Walter Matthau? You must have LEARNED SO MUCH FROM THEM! I heard that they demolished the Harmonia Gardens set to re-purpose it the next year for "Beneath the Planet of the Apes"! (actually- that is a true fact! Do a Google search!)
My other favorite films of yours is Up the Sandbox and Open All Night. I saw them like 100 times in the theater when they were RE-RELEASED and HELD OVER.
(So like, now she's starting to FUME and grabs Donna Karan's arm and whispers "OK Donna- let's make a run for it")
I continue
Your husband was sooo good on that show "Hotel". Can you ask him if he has any VHS tapes of the show that I can barrow? I'm missing Season 2, Episode 12 with guest stars Donald O'Conner, Jimmy Walker, Lana Wood and Martin Mull.
Thanks.
Ohhhh I see you added a new addition to your ranch-mansion-estate-compound BarbraLand ! I hear that they are giving tours thru your home while you are on tour! Um,. I'm a bit short-handed this month..would it be at all possible to get me 1 dozen free passes for Aug. 4th? Th5b4anks.
Ohhh one last thing Barbra before you run off; me and my friends came up with a wonderful theme for your next concert tour: HELLO DOLLY'S 45th Anniversary Tour featuringMichael Crawford and Yourself! Would that not be the best!? Think of it as giving BACK to all your Dolly fans over the years! At the concert - you could have some "surprise" guests like E.J. Peaker and Tommy Tune! It's like we've come full circle. It would be likeBUTTA. A big stick of butta!
Hugs & Kisses,

What? No mention of "What's Up Doc?" and how great she was in that?

Re: If I ever meet her- here is what I will ask her:

p.s. it's "All Night Long"

Right.

Released overseas as All Night Schlong.

Re: If I ever meet her- here is what I will ask her:

The question I would ask (and I've never heard anyone ask this of her in all these
years)is what it was like when she first couldn't walk down the street unnoticed.
Not EVERYONE knew her from just the first three albums, so was it the stage
version of "Funny Girl?" But that would be New York mainly. So, was it after
her first TV special?

This must be a weird time for any celebthe one day when they can shop unnoticed
to the day when they cannot.

Re: If I ever meet her- here is what I will ask her:

That would be an excellent question!

What I would say - not so much a question, but a comment - I'd tell her how much I love HELLO DOLLY, what a terrific job she did with the character, and considering that she has mixed feelings about it - that it's made many people happy over the years.

I would also ask how she felt about so much of the excellent FUNNY GIRL stage score getting cut or replaced with other songs in the film version.

Re: If I ever meet her- here is what I will ask her:

Those are all better questions than the first "torture" question.

I might ask Babs this "torture question", put nicely though : "Do you understand Gene Kelly more today than you did 50 years ago?"

It must be a terrible day to realize that your base audience can barely make it to the toilet let alone the theater and that the current audience has seen it all beforemany times.

People don't really wish they'd never get old. At heart I think we all wish we just knew what's coming so that we can adjust our energies and expectations and find a way to be a part of it, but that's just not possible in a free society. Age is blamed or plastic surgery which often is an age identifier in itself.

The world must move on. Keeping it the same is stagnation. And people die. And you can either take it or you can't.

In many ways "Hello Dolly" holds up better, but as a MGM Musical, which it wasn't in the first place, and "Funny Girl" remains a "Barbra showcase" and drama amongst a myriad of dramas. Barbra was and remains "Funny Girl's" greatest a1c84sset.

Maybe Gene Kelly was right "at last" while Barbra's suggestions would've made for a better film and cost Fox a million dollars less.

If I ever met her, the question I'd ask her is:

"How frequently per month do you find yourself having to reupholster the chair THE CHAIR, to be clear that you confided during some interview that you and James Brolin have 'amazing' sex in?"

Runner-up question: "Does your private underground shopping mall have an Old Navy?"

Room for one more, honey.

Torture torture torture. Why must we slash at each other so.

Re: If I ever meet her- here is what I will ask her:

I would thank her for her wonderful singing and the entertaining films she has made.

I wouldn't find it necessary to be rude or sarcastic to her, unless she was rude and sarcastic first. That wouldn't serve any point. In spite of her narcissism and self-absorption, I can't deny the fact, that for a large chunk of my life I held Streisand in reverence and put her up on a pedestal. I was being naive and gullible I know; but her talent still resonated with me and I suppose I saw her as some sort of role model. I would only feel the need to ask her a direct question if the situation warranted it and if it was appropriate. I would feel intimidate by her anyway, and I doubt that I would have anything that I could offer her that she would want from me.
