Ascension : Script could have worked as a theatre play

It seems like there's no reason for this story being told like this as a film. There's hardly any visual storytelling here at all.

The film goes like this:
random shots inside the building that does nothing to develop the story
long, slow "deep" dialogue with a static camera
random shots inside the building that does nothing to develop the story
long, slow "deep" dialogue with a static camera
random shots inside the building that does nothing to develop the story
long, slow "deep" dialogue with a static camera
random shots inside the building that does nothing to develop the story
long, slow "deep" dialogue with a static camera
random shots inside the building that does nothing to develop the story
long, slow "deep" dialogue with a static camera
etc
One scene starts with everything blurred, but apparently for no other reason than "ooh, look, pretty!", because no other scene is introduced like this, and this scene is no different than the others..

This script could have worked as a play maybe. If I were to direct it as a play, i would have tried to lift the dialogue up from its "deepness" a bit. Some of the philosophical discussions reminds me of the deep philosophical depths you explore when you are drunk at a party :)

Isn't ignorance wonderful?
This must be amongst the greatest,deepest and most poetic and thought-provoking films of the past 20 years and to see it trashed by such an idiotic string of remarks as above truly warms the cockles of the heart!
For intelligent people out there who love,say,the work of Tarkovsky to which this films owes a great and loving debt,my advice is buy the marvellous Another World dvd now - you won't regret it..well,unless you are jorn-15 and responsible for the poor state of intelligence of most modern movies (stick to Mall Cop or something like that)
