Re: Your concert history
I've seen even fewer, just The Stones and Henry Chapin. Ditto on the Beatles.

Yes I did. As we were walking away after the concert, somebody yelled at us "How were the fucking Stones?" Without batting an eyelash, my date yelled back, "They were fucking great!"

Re: Your concert history
Same here. Before I list, though, I want to do some damage control and say that some of these concerts I saw were when I was an usher while attending Ball State University.
That is super cool that you got to see Elvis!
ELO
Air (these two have been my favorite concerts. Getting to see Air was almost an accident and they are one of my favorite groups.)
Blondie
Pat Benatar
Nine Inch Nails (A friend of a friend gave me a ticket because somebody couldn't go. I would never have paid money. It was so loud. We were in the mosh pit. When males were getting tossed in the air, I would always grab their nuts. Definitely the best part of the experience!
)
Marilyn Manson - opened for NIN. What a weirdo.
John Williams
Sandra Bernhard - she sang and also did stand up humor, I'm going to count her
Florence Henderson & Pat Boone - BSU
Ann-Margret - BSU
Chubby Checker - BSU
"My life is over. I might as well dance with Johnny Slash!"

I love ELO, that must have been great seeing them!
Pat Benatar would have been a lot of fun too
Cool that you were an usher, I hope it was a good experience
I saw Ann-Margret too, in Vegas

Re: Your concert history
ELO was amazing.
I enjoyed being an usher very much. Chubby Checker was friendly. Ann-Margret looked great. I like Florence from TBB, but not really a fan of her style of singing and you can have Pat Boone.
Oh, you mentioned Las Vegas. I forgot. I saw Charo when I was there. She played the guitar and sang "Chiquitita". She interacted with the audience. She was fun.

"Before I list, though, I want to do some damage control and say that some of these concerts I saw were when I was an usher while attending Ball State University."
Why would that be considered as "damage control?"
So what if you did not pay to get in to see them?
I have been doing the same thing lately.
Being a volunteer usher to see some acts for free, and sometimes in a seat near front row, in a small local venue.
It is a nice work exchange.
Towards the end of this month I plan to see Marc Maron and Al Frankin.
My first two famous comedians I have ever seen in a large venue.
If I am on your block list, let me know!
Thanx.

Re: Your concert history
I was being mildly defensive. I didn't want anybody to think that I would choose to see Pat Boone in concert.
Also forgot that I saw The Statler Brothers at BSU. I'm not a fan of country, but they're not bad. My mom was a huge fan of theirs and she came up and took me out to dinner.

I had a chance to see Motley Crue in their prime but Mom wouldn't let me go
Thankfully a year later I got to see Guns N Roses when her co-worker's son drove me & my friend to the concert an hour and a half away. The second time for GNR it was 3.5 hours away.

Yes the stadium tour in 92 with Faith No More and Metallica. Mike Patton went into the crowd and asked fans to give him $2 to buy a cup of beer, which they did
We left before the concert was over right before 3am. Axl kept us waiting forever.

Re: Your concert history
i've seen steely dan. i went mainly to hear dirty work and they decided to butcher it with some weird arrangement, the only song they did that with. the rest of the concert was still pretty good. i'm still angry about dirty work though.
Re: Your concert history
I hate it when they do that, I have a couple of live Bowie albums where he gets the words wrong, I should find it charming but grrr.
Dirty work is a great song, it's quite different in style. In fact I just read that Becker and Fagen weren't big fans of the song hence David Palmer sang the lead. Maybe they sabotaged it at your concert?
