Ya know that thin piece of plastic film…

…that is a protective covering over a screen like on a digital camera or other electronic devices?

Do you remove it or keep it on there for protection?

Does it matter if it stays on or not?

Re: Ya know that thin piece of plastic film…

Have you noticed a difference with it on or off?

Re: Ya know that thin piece of plastic film…

In terms of seeing the screen it is fine though on one of the things it did start to bubble a little.

Re: Ya know that thin piece of plastic film…

I usually take them off, but sometimes I can’t even tell it’s on there and never had problems but eventually it will start to peel and I realize it was on there the whole time.

Re: Ya know that thin piece of plastic film…

That is what happened with the one on my printer screen where it started to bubble.

I feel like keeping the one on my stopwatch to perhaps help it be more water resistant than advertised.

I kinda regret taking the one off of my DVD remote since that is getting dirty.

Why are you falling asleep?
I thought you would find this stimulating and exciting!

I removed it immediately.

Re: Ya know that thin piece of plastic film…

As does everyone of even average intelligence. It is there to protect the screen from scratches during packaging.

But it also serves another purpose. As we found out here. It mystifies morons.
