The Man Who Never Was : Why 7.3?
Re: Why 7.3?
The average score is 7.3 because other people who saw it gave it that score.

Re: Why 7.3?
I thought it was excellent; I gave it 8/10. It is possibly the best British war film I have seen (which isn't very many). It also is an example of a director and cinematographer making interesting use of the original 2.55:1 CinemaScope format.
Re: Why 7.3?
I saw this tonight on "Saturday Night at the Movies" on TV Ontario. The other movie shown was better, I thought. "Operation Crossbow" is a great reality based war story. The cinematography was excellent and the action was quite exciting. This movie, "The Man Who Never Was" was an interesting story and fairly well-done but a bit over-dramatic--especially the scenes with Lucy sitting at the piano while the music swells. Is she playing the piano? No, not until her head bangs down on it. Sorry, but I found that part pretty distracting.

It's a fabulous film and it's incredibly entertaining. Also Grahame was probably the worst part of the film. Pretty mediocre performance though I guess you could blame some of that on the makeup department.

Re: Why 7.3?
I thought it should be rated at 8 or above. I thought it was very suspenseful and the spy did a great acting job, too.
Re: Why 7.3?
I thought you were going to ask why it was so low, not why it's so high. This movie is excellent. I, too, gave it an 8/10.
Re: Why 7.3?
I gave it a 7 so I think the average is just right! (In fact, I'd give it just barely above 7 if they allowed decimals.)
