American Horror Story : Who's for a fully animated season?

Who's for a fully animated season?

I don't know why but I think it'll be hilarious but still kind of innovative. Maybe something like A Nightmare Before Christmas or Coraline.

Re: Who's for a fully animated season?

i don't mind ryan making another show like that but please no, not as an ahs season

Re: Who's for a fully animated season?

Please no.

Re: Who's for a fully animated season?

I love animated movies and shows but not as an AHS season. Nono no no nono.

Re: Who's for a fully animated season?

eggsactly this ^^

Re: Who's for a fully animated season?

Well it was worth a shot.

Re: Who's for a fully animated season?

If it was like the opening credits for Freak Show it could be a goer, but probably cost prohibitive.

Re: Who's for a fully animated season?

Freak Show had the best opening credits. I'm a sucker for stop-motion animation.

Re: Who's for a fully animated season?

I agree, but also the most exy.

Re: Who's for a fully animated season?

I had to skip over the creds for freak show because it was too creepy.

Re: Who's for a fully animated season?

It was creepy. I find all the opening credits for this show unsettling and only watch them once or twice.

Re: Who's for a fully animated season?

It's not that it hasn't been done in anthology shows in the past, but since it would be 12 or so episodes (most anthology shows are 1 story in 1 episode), it might be a little much for the ahs audience. Maybe a partially animated season, like having a main character who sees in animation, or have it based on dreams.

Re: Who's for a fully animated season?

I can see an animated nightmare sequence like in Dumbo. This shows animation, the few times they've used it, is very creepy and beautiful.

Re: Who's for a fully animated season?

Maybe a bit too hilarious?

I remember the animated episode of Fringe as well as The Nanny and Home Improvement. In each of those cases I can't remember what happened, most likely I even skipped parts, because it felt so boring to get somethine like that when one anticipates real humans.

AHS is a concept meant to be played around with, just like they did with the three different kinds of reality tv they had this season. I am not sure something as intrusive as animation would really work. Especially since animation lowers the stakes. It is difficult to care for an animated character the way one cares for a real character. So the story told would have to be a different one. Maybe recurring dream sequences, which root in the real world with some concept of rules which allow one to care about the whatever results from them.

Re: Who's for a fully animated season?

I would say I would like it to be featured at some point.

Would be really interesting as part of a dream sequence.

Maybe a season that involves a lot of drug problems, although this would probably have fitted best in Hotel, like with Sally's character or something.

Then again they've now featured a documentary/found footage style within season 6, what's to say they won't do a stop motion one.

Maybe with dolls or something, that could heavily feature some creepy animation.

Dolls have been used as atmosphere thoughout, and obviously Jamie Brewer played one in Freakshow. But dolls to me are so creepy that if they did a season that focused on dolls and toys coming to life, some stop-motion animation or the like could be used very effectively.

Re: Who's for a fully animated season?

I think animation would look the best in a child-themed season. Giving a sinister twist to childhood features. So dolls and dream sequences seem to be the best fit.

No more kids. For this you must be severely punished!

Especially for tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy theorists.

Oh for the love of God have mercy on me!

Re: Who's for a fully animated season?

OK, seeing as you asked so sweetly Happy New Year, babe.🎉

Re: Who's for a fully animated season?

I suddenly envision that idea to play out like season 1 of that SyFy series, Channel Zero. Events that surrounds a creepy, cursed, or haunted local children program.

Re: Who's for a fully animated season?

Maybe the tv station could be hypnotizing children to commit murder and be this cult basically, sort of like the Children of the Corn.

Re: Who's for a fully animated season?

not unless its claymation

Re: Who's for a fully animated season?

That could work if stop motion or part of a reoccurring nightmare sequence.

Re: Who's for a fully animated season?

Yeah I had stop motion in mind as well. Very creepy.

Re: Who's for a fully animated season?

It sounds expensive

Re: Who's for a fully animated season?

I would NEVER watch an animated season long series. Now, if there were"go along" webisodes, like "Dexter" had, that would be cool.
