Quite honestly, I think your political opinions are worthless in general, but your attitude towards women is fine. So no need to feel threatened by women, because you're not really an alpha male in the obnoxious way (I hear Klam couldn't stand you and gave you a hard time back in the day, but then you were probably a complete asshole, so that makes sense).

For the record, I like Klam a lot and have a lot of respect for her as a person. She's golden in my book and has been for a long time. I hope she comes back around soon.

I'm not just an academic. I was once in a knife-fight in a bar, and I boxed at the State level. Now, of course, carrying heavy books upstairs makes me breathe heavily.

It was post-school. I was about 20, and fought as a bantam weight (got knocked down, but not out, in the quarter-finals). The knife fight was a ridiculous affair. My friend caught a long slash across the inside of his palms (he tried to protect his abdomen) and then we all ran for it (we were outnumbered about ten to one). Later I came back for him on a borrowed motorbike but he had trudged off home and was drinking!

I have a punching bag, gloves, and one of those little portable gyms. But I don't really have much time for exercise. In summer I jog two or three times a day and swim twice a week. Not enough, of course.

Right on. The jogging and swimming are fantastic imo but you should definitely make time for the bag, even if its 10-15 minutes

I am also doing about half a dozen 5Ks this year with the fam, first one in March for St. Patrick's Day. But I need them to have a bit attached to it, like Mud runs or glow in the dark or bubble. otherwise I get bored.
I haven't fight trained in a long time but my teen and I are going to start Krav Maga later this spring. We're both pretty excited for it.

I would rephrase that "stiff as a board" phrase, but otherwise, unexceptionable advice. My dog gets very excited when I set up the punching bag outside so I have to lock her in the house. I'll probably get back to dance classes in summer (my wife is really into dance, and it's decent exercise, so don't laugh).

I'm not one to make fun of how people exercise. There is a reason why things like Zumba were (still are?) popular.

Stretching makes a huge difference in quality of life. I do it between sets of lifting, when there aren’t gay people in the vicinity.

For a while I was doing hot yoga (bikram). It’s fucking brutal but provided you keep yourself well hydrated and replenish your electrolytes, makes you feel amazing and restores your pliability.

outdoor! warehouses are fine but for tripping (mdma, LSD, ketamine) outdoor is the best. trips need freedom

That is as good a reason as any,Believe it or not, I have never taken any drug in my life outside a few joints.
However, pot makes me nauseous so I haven't smoked it in 15 years. I think I'm allergic to it.
Nevertheless, all I need is the music. Everything else is icing on the cake!

I assume you've read Huxley (Doors of Perception) on the drug experience? I haven't really gotten into the effects of drugs on music appreciation (though I have fond memories of listening to Coltrane and Miles Davis and Bach and Beethoven while high on marijuana-very nice).

no actually i havent read that. but funny thing is, when my roommate and i get stoned we usually play the piano every time (she has a piano) bc piano sounds sound sooooo good when being stoned, no lie.
