The first one is not Floyd, but it's supposed to be a salute to black people made by a black artist and it looks like a retarded kid.

Meanwhile, I'm astounded that the real Floyd statues exist.

Corona was largely a demoralization attempt in an election year. We are still dealing with it but a couple months later into 2021 and it's gone.

The third one is quite good. Reminds me of the bust of Nefertiti.

In that it's a statute.

The statue of Nefertiti, which I saw in France, in the Louvre, no more than a foot away, is that of a beautiful Eastern European type white woman.

She looks like Angelina Jolie.

The second one gets my vote. Everyone realizes George Floyd was a drug addict who beat a pregnant woman. Even those who erect the statues realize he was not a great man or even a good man.

But he's a proletarian Everyman. The second statue doesn't try to make him heroic, but just depicts your average joe in a tee shirt sitting on a bus bench. That was the whole point of honoring him with a statue.

First, I think it's stupid to even have a statue of him.

But I understand the theoretical point they're trying to make. Your average man has all sorts of faults. But this man became important because his death may stop police from using excessive force.

For example. Here's a famous 1930's photo of some old smiling Chinese man. No one knows his name. For all we know he was a rapist and a murderer. But he's honored as an "Everyman" for all time.

2nd degree murder is when you accidentally kill someone while committing a crime that is NOT MURDER.

So, the cop was going to pleasantly arrest him, but Floyd inspired the cop to commit a crime against him by needing to get restrained?

It's bizarre.

I don't see the cop as just an average citizen involved in a fight. He was armed. And he was an agent of the state. Sorry, he represents my government and I hold him to a higher standard. The cop got what he deserved.

If you let the cop off, you're basically condoning excessive force by a faceless authoritarian state against its citizens. My freedom and the freedom of all Americans is best served by the cop spending a long time in jail.

If that's unfair to Chauvin the man, oh well, he should never have become a cop.

Floyd resisted arrest after being placed in the car.

He was trying to destroy the car and they restrained him.

There was no plan because how could there be.

The cop took too long restraining him BUT he was surrounded by black people filming him, questioning him, and so he was under threat from the crowd.

There is no provable 2nd degree murder intent.

Floyd put himself in that situation in many ways, being intoxicated, pasting fake money, resisting arrest, trying to destroy police property, and so on.

The cops wanted to arrest him calmly and did, until Floyd made it not calm.

As I've been saying, he will win on appeal.

Just as a side note, when an agent of state is performing his duty, the citizens have every right to film him. Why are citizens who are exercising their right to observe a threat?

And sorry, but none of the crimes you listed: public intoxication, passing counterfeit bills, resisting arrest or destroying public property are punishable by the death penalty.

Again, the state is on trial. Chauvin was acting as an agent for the state in this event, not as an individual with Bill of Rights protection. The state does not have any guaranteed freedoms. The state has a responsibility to the people, and like it or not, Floyd was one of those people.

In addition, did you see the riots? When you are in a black area surrounded by black people, you will not think they're going to give you a metal or flowers.

That's ACCIDENTAL MURDER while committing a crime where murder was not the intent.

So, the ruling is that while on top of him, the cop decided to commit some crime, what crime, and he accidentally died during the commission of that crime.

What crime and what was the motive and intent?

In addition, he was not "helpless" because he just got done resisting arrest by kicking the shit out of the cop car.

Why isn’t he holding a gun or an iv in any of these? George was a criminal.
