Star Trek: The Next Generation : What we didn't see onboard
Re: What we didn't see onboard
I think that is the most annoying thing about Keiko: since she was willing to try Miles' relatively unhealthy Irish dishes, she then forced him to endure her so-called healthy Japanese crap. Don't stand for that, Miles! Put your foot down!
Why are you here if you haven't seen the movie yet?

Re: What we didn't see onboard
I mentioned something similar to this a long time ago.
We just see what's happening on the bridge of the ship.
I imagine all sorts of people, not just families, doing all sorts of mundane things suddenly being tossed around as the 'inertial dampers' or what ever go off line because the ship is taking phaser fire...
( or whatever)
I'd be the one in the top bunk......
No world order that elevates one nation or group of people over another will succeed

Re: What we didn't see onboard
Yes as viewers we just focus on the main characters as well as the guest stars. I don't think the actual day to day workings of this huge ship were ever properly addressed.
Of course there were occasional shots of the kids being taught at nursery but to be honest the original idea of having families onboard became more and more preposterous as the series progressed.
The Enterprise should have remained as just an exploration and research ship - heavily armed of course.

Re: What we didn't see onboard
The children must have been terrified - but when there were casualties all we heard were statements like 'We lost a lot of good people down there'
Kids who are assigned are shown this video of what to do in case of an emergency;

Re: What we didn't see onboard
Yes spot on - a well made 24th century video.

Re: What we didn't see onboard
Well, we know they were put in the most vulnerable parts of the ship, far away from the center of mass and close to the surfaces, so that the crew could be protected from hostile fire. They did their part for the Federation.
Re: What we didn't see onboard
Funny, Wylde. They knew what they were getting into.

Clearly disciples of the ISIS code of conduct.
Re: What we didn't see onboard
children shouldn't be on the ship. i think picard put in the code to self destruct at least once. that's fine for the crew but kind of bad when kids are involved

He's the captain. He can do whatever he likes.

At least in TOS we saw crew being thrown about in the corridors - but we just seemed to see very little of the overall compliment when the ship was being attacked in TNG
NB - Just watching 'The Wounded' and there is an announcement to take emergency stations at the beginning when O'brien is trying to eat his new wife's 'delicious' concoction of plankton loaf and sea berries.
A good excuse for him to leave the meal.
