What 'historical' movie or tv show would you like to see made?

I am watching the Medici show, enjoying it, and I was thinking of other historical shows or movies I would like to see.

For me, anything on:

1. Voyage of Magellan
2. Battle of Hastings or Harold Godwinson
3. Erik the Red or Leif Erikson
4. Cortes (sorry, Cortez)
5. Tupac Amaru
6. Lewis and Clark's expedition
7. Battle of Adrianopolis or the later sack of Rome
8. Attila the Hun
9. The crazy Scottish colony in the Darien Gap
10. The Punic Wars/Hannibal
11. Socrates

Re: What 'historical' movie or tv show would you like to see made?

Def agree with 1, 3, 5, 7, 8 and 10!

I’d like to see more Middle Eastern history… movies about the life of Ibn Sina (juxtaposed to the Dark Ages in Europe) or the Moors in Spain/ North Africa or the Muslim invasion of Southeast Asia

Re: What 'historical' movie or tv show would you like to see made?

I almost added the fall of Granada. I would watch that.

Re: What 'historical' movie or tv show would you like to see made?

Yes, I’d love a younger Keri Russell and Viggo Mortenson to play Isabella and Ferdinand

Re: What 'historical' movie or tv show would you like to see made?

I had already cast Ariana Grande and Pitbull.

Re: What 'historical' movie or tv show would you like to see made?

How about something set in

1. Ancient Petra
2. Medieval Sicily (combo of Muslim, Frankish and Greek cultures)

Re: What 'historical' movie or tv show would you like to see made?

Yes to both of them. The Sicily one could be a trilogy alone lol

Re: What 'historical' movie or tv show would you like to see made?

There's a horror film about the Chupacabra
from 2005. I would like to see one based on fact.

Re: What 'historical' movie or tv show would you like to see made?

Cool. Cool, cool, cool.

Re: What 'historical' movie or tv show would you like to see made?

Re: What 'historical' movie or tv show would you like to see made?

The "magickal war" between Aleister Crowley and William Butler Yeats
The Cadaver Synod
Dick Fosbury and his "Fosbury Flop"

Re: What 'historical' movie or tv show would you like to see made?

Re: What 'historical' movie or tv show would you like to see made?

I've always been fascinated by Boudicca, warrior Queen of the Iceni, in ancient Britain. Not much is known about her life, but she seems a colorful, heroic and amazing woman who stood up to and fought the invading Romans. She deserves to be remembered with a film that does justice to the huge impact she had on that era.

Re: What 'historical' movie or tv show would you like to see made?

starring GalGadot and directed by Patty Jenkins

Re: What 'historical' movie or tv show would you like to see made?

Socrates would be a great one.

A film about the reign of Roman Emperor Elagabalus would be magnificent as well, decadent as fuck.

Also Alexander the Great's conquest of Egypt.

Re: What 'historical' movie or tv show would you like to see made?

The great, forgotten historical novelist Alfred Duggan wrote a very good book on that Emperor, if I recall. 'Family Favourites'.

Re: What 'historical' movie or tv show would you like to see made?

I haven't read Duggan's book. But as a historian and in the time he wrote, I imagine he left out some of the details - the whoring in women's clothes and giving blow jobs to Roman soldiers in the latrines. Obviously the film would have to pander.

Re: What 'historical' movie or tv show would you like to see made?

It's actually amazingly modern in tone. It's through the eyes of a Roman soldier, and for example he speaks very coldly and matter-of-factly of the Roman Army's use of rape as a means of keeping subjected people terrorized. Yikes.

Re: What 'historical' movie or tv show would you like to see made?

I did some googling and it covers Elagabalus's military campaigns. If I directed a film about Elagabalus it would be more like Caligula. He was a fascinating character and a man I would definitely wanna fuck. Just sayin'.
… the Roman Army's use of rape as a means of keeping subjected people terrorized.
Pure evil. The Serbians also used rape as a military tactic against the Bosnians to destroy the very fabric of their society.

Re: What 'historical' movie or tv show would you like to see made?

I would love to see a biofilm about the life of Teddy Roosevelt.

Re: What 'historical' movie or tv show would you like to see made?

Nice. Have you ever seen 'The Wind and the Lion'?

Re: What 'historical' movie or tv show would you like to see made?

One about John Lennon’s life based on Cynthia Lennon’s biography and portrayal of him would be interesting to see reenacted into a movie. So much of his life was talked about from his childhood, how they met, how he got the band together, how he treated her and a lot of his dark side not everyone knew. It also talked about some of Paul, Ringo, and George’s backstory and life too.

It’s from Cynthia’s point of view so it an ex wife’s portrayal of him, she talked about how he verbally and physically abused her, but I just really liked that book because it’s open and honest, and there were times I felt I could relate to her. It’s informative but also personal so it make a good story and not just documentary

Re: What 'historical' movie or tv show would you like to see made?

Yes, I would watch that, for sure.

Kim Jong-Il's Kidnapping of a Famous South Korean Filmmaking Ex-Couple
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abduction_of_Shin_Sang-ok_and_Choi_Eun-hee

a famous South Korean director and his ex-wife, a famous actress, were separately kidnapped by Kim Jong-Il in 1978 bc he was a major fan of theirs. the exes had to settle their differences and work together, and after a few years of working under the regime, Kim gave them increasingly more freedom and even let them fly to Europe to shoot on location. in doing so, the North Korean general audiences was able to see images of the outside world for the first time.

suck it. 😁👊💥😨😭
