Game of Thrones : What are your expectations for the new Game of Thrones prequel series?

It’s called House of the Dragon and will obviously focus on the backstory and history of house Targaryen. I want to see the full story of Aegon the conqueror and more history leading up to Aerys II and his downfall.

Same here with Aegon. One of my expectations is to the see army of dragons invade Westeros.

But as interesting as the Targaryen history, it's tragic considering how Game of Thrones ended with the last full-blooded Targaryen dead (Which was Dany); however, the Targaryen bloodline still continue in Jon (Aegon), just half-blooded so it's not totally dead. Another note is that Targaryens have sex with each other to keep the bloodline pure which is another term for "royal" and each kin have silver hair, which is interesting but disturbing at the same time.

I was little disappointed GoT didn't keep purple eyes part though.

It feels like a very tainted, possibly even dead franchise for me at this point- after that disaster of a last season.

Also poor Naomi Watts getting her prequel pulled from under her- she was one of the reasons I would have given that a try.

….but this one has Paddy Considine one of my favourite actors and Olivia Cooke and Matt Smith who I like too… so they MIGHT tempt me in. MIGHT.

You're not the only one. I have mixed feeling with the prequel as well, but my interest grows stronger as I learned about it. One of the reason is D&D are not attached to this prequel and keep them FAR away from this one. Not to mention, this prequel has the episodic director responsible for major episodes such as Battle of the Bastards and Hardhome attached to this.

D&D we're always the worst thing about Game of Thrones

They should have stepped down after the sixth season and let the final two seasons (even though season 7 was still kinda good but could have fleshed out little more) go to different creators/writers who would know how to end it effectively, such as Miguel Sapochnik.

D and D definitely ruined season 8 but I feel a good, gripping prequel series will provide some redemption for the franchise.

I could see House of Dragons being like the mandalorian of game of Thrones.
