Midnight Caller : Was there a real life Jack Killian?

Was there a real life Jack Killian?

A real life Jack Killian-type of radio host that was the inspiration for Midnight Caller?

Jack Killian kind of reminds me of Don Imus in the 80s when he was an alcoholic with a turbulent private life. But Imus was never a cop.

Re: Was there a real life Jack Killian?

There was a TV movie based on a true life story of a talk radio DJ who stood up for what was right and was murdered. I think he was Jewish, and racism or anti-semitism may have been the cause of the conflict, which obviously wasn't the case with Jack, but this other guy was portrayed as similarly wanting to do the right thing. I can't remember his name, I'm sorry, but it was quite high profile.

The real life guy that was murdered was Alan Berg, a talk radio host in Denver who was also an attorney. Parts of Oliver Stone's Talk Radio were based on him.
