Trump began the Afghanistan withdraw. It's practically the only good thing he ever did. We should have left 15 years ago rather than spent 20 years wasting trillions of dollars on a lost cause. How many more decades and trillions of dollars spent would have made you happy?

That's one argument to make, and probably good one, not relevant to what Biden did, though, because getting us out of there wasn't the issue, it's how he went about it. First of all, we had a bare bones crew in there for years, essentially doing nothing but sitting there and acting as a deterrent, but if we wanted to close shop and come home you do it with a plan in place. You get your allies, your people and your equipment out first, then you extract the soldiers. Biden just grabbed the military people all of a sudden and just abandoned everything, leaving their people, weapons and the country over to the Taliban.

Do you think the president is the one drawing up the logistics of a withdraw? The president gives the order, the military comes up with the actual plans and execution. Trump gave them over a year to get ready for withdraw. Biden extended the deadline by 4 more months. There was plenty of time for the military to come up with a plan. Any botched exit is on them and just shows you how inept the Pentagon is and why we shouldn't have spent another second wasting our time there.

Biden is Commander in Chief, he made the call to pick up and abandon. I know leftists never ever want to admit that another leftist has ever been responsible for any bad decision ever, but that doesn't matter. This dumb **** withdraw strategy is on Biden.

Trump made the call to leave. Biden stuck with it, although Trump criticised him for not leaving fast enough. Getting out of Afghanistan is the best decision of both of their presidencies.

Trump didn't leave, though, and he had conditions set up as well. But again, you're ignoring the point because you're playing defense for Biden, it's not about leaving, it's the way we left.

Putin should want Trump because Trump is more likely to bring an end to the Russian/Ukraine conflict where with Biden it will just continue and get worse.
