The Watercooler : Today I spoke with a professional that used to study psychiatry

He's a very educated man.

We spoke briefly about my problems with depression.

That person was telling me about the high suicide rate among females who's IQ were 135 and above. I told him that I'd never met a female who's IQ was that high in my life. That's when he scoffed and waved his hand in a dismissive manner. Then he said that he was looking at one of them.

I had no idea my IQ was that high. It must be raw IQ level? .
He also said that the psychiatry community is discovering more about bipolar mania and depression. And they found out that bipolar disorder is not a flaw. It's an evolutionary advantage and a rare genetic trait. He says that I am gifted and talented. But that I also have to make sure that I get adequate sleep. Otherwise, all I have to do now is learn how to harnest my gift.

He also told me that people like me aren't ones responsible for most of the mass shootings happening. That's why I am not a person of interest to law enforcement. He says that due to my high intelligence and evolutionary gift, it alwsys enables me to always think outside of the box and having strong natural leadership abilities.

The reason I share my personal story with you is to inspire hope to anyone having a high IQ whose struggle with depression made you feel broken inside. You aren't.

There is an expression that goes something like this, knowing is half the battle? And possessing great knowledge comes with heavy responsibly.

No, the medical staff urged me to speak with him because I had a meltdown at the clinic about something entirely unrelated. I was literally falling apart about having surgery and all the paperwork and doctor's appointments for various physical injuries I sustained. People were like uncomforrable and I was offended that they were offended. How the heck does anyone sit at a doctors so calm as Hindu cows. Hospitals and clinics are not social activities. But eventually I had to regain my composure for THEIR sake…yeah always for THEIR sake. They cannot handle people are miserable being sick and hurt.

I didn't do it for attention. I couldn't have cared less about anyone else. This is about ME and my life. Screw anyone else.

After I calmed down, they urged me to speak with him. It was like having a chat with a friend. He talked about himself mostly.
