Date Night : The camerawork was terrible!

The camerawork was terrible!

Did anybody else notice how bad the camerawork was? I found it very distracting. It was like watching a Lifetime original movie.

I can't believe that this was shot by the same guy who did Dances with Wolves and won the Academy Award for best cinematography.

Re: The camerawork was terrible!

I noticed a ton of jump cuts in this movie. Mostly shots with Tina Fey looking one way, then suddenly positioned totally different.

Re: The camerawork was terrible!

#1 was cinematography, not "camera work".

#2 was editing, not cinematography.

Re: The camerawork was terrible!

It was a good example of digital cinematography done by a team that doesn't understand how to shoot digital. Digital cinematography, despite what film snobs will say, can look gorgeous (see 2011 Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Avengers, etc) and on par with film if done properly, but here, it wasn't done properly, giving it that cheap "video look."

And the editing left something to be desired at times.

And FURTHERMORE, this is my signature! SERIOUSLY! Did you think I was still talking about my point?
