suck it.

Re: Tattie bobos Jodie!

Is she out?
If so good, not that I dislike her but her Doctor was the final nail in the coffin for me.

My heart bleeds for him, as a child. Someone took a kid and manufactured a monster. At the same time, as an adult, he's irredeemable.

Re: Tattie bobos Jodie!

From what I understand of the situation as it stands she's off after her next season.

I've stopped watching mind and so I'm not invested in her or the show at all now

But, onwards and upwards Dazed

Re: Tattie bobos Jodie!

I'm the same, they killed it dead. I hate the woke BBC, trying to teach Dr.Who fans about racism and feminism ffs.

It's time to end it forever abandon the licence fee and start making shows worth me downloading the iPlayer app again.

Re: Tattie bobos Jodie!

Who used to be able to talk about high end concepts like racism and feminism through analogy from a cheesy science fiction story. The audience would either have to make the connections or better yet learn about them from talking to other people about the show.

Now it's just lecturing by some twat and has no fun in it at all

I very much doubt the kids at school (Are there any just now) will be talking about Who in the playgrounds any more

Re: Tattie bobos Jodie!

Exactly, if you were on the ball you got the message but if not then no harm done, it was still a good story for you to talk about and something might just seep in by osmosis.

I tend to think that people who are intolerant of other races don't watch sci-fi about aliens. Adding another layer of preachiness is a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

Re: Tattie bobos Jodie!

A good example of how science fiction can poke understands of concepts that I've seen recently was in Deep Space 9, season 1 episode called Dax.

You've got Sisko trying to help out an old friend who is now a new person. There's gender involved, whether crimes can be carried by the descendants of criminals and ultimately that history is a skewed version of events and not to be taken as 100 accurate.

All wrapped up in a nice science fiction bow

This is early 90's discussing something which wouldn't be mainstream for another 20 years and doing a better job of it than anything recent.

Idiots are killing a great medium for progress by sucking all the fun out of it and thinking that they are the trailblazers on the frontier of social justice
