Should I not get a job now?

Just get SSDI and go to school, take a break for the summer to freshen up and get some rest and exercise for the school year?

Re: Should I not get a job now?

No you should work

I don’t think that she could ever hold down a job for very long. I once knew a guy like her. He would always talk about how he wanted to break free of the system, and someone was always willing to give him a chance to work. But he could never stick with it for long. I’m pretty sure it’s the same with Christina. I think that temp work is the best that she can ever hope for.

The situation that she ended up in following her father’s death, is a very unfortunate one. For those that have a dependent with special needs, the moral of the story here is:

Life insurance/trust funds
(They can’t be allowed access to the full sum, for their own good)

Re: Should I not get a job now?

She isn't capable of holding down any job. To encourage her is to contribute to her wasting everyone's time. If she does get a job no matter how easy she quits after one or two days.

Re: Should I not get a job now?

She isn't. She has years and years of not being able to hold down a job. It isn't just being lazy. She isn't capable.

Re: Should I not get a job now?

If you were an employer and took the time to inerview her and set her up and train her and then she quit and this is a thing she does every time, would you want to hire her? Just because an employer doesn't know about it doesn't make her capable of holding down a job for more than one or two days and these are all part time jobs. They are low level jobs. She doesn't have the capacity. She may be lazy but she also doesn't have the capacity. I a not saying it to be mean I am saying it because facts are facts.

Re: Should I not get a job now?

That makes no sense. Regardless of whether or not they know the fact is that she isn't a good risk and will quit a day or two are she is hired. Sometimes she quits a few hours after she is hired.

Re: Should I not get a job now?

She lacks the capacity to follow through and keep at it. It's a real thing. She cannot do it.

Re: Should I not get a job now?

No. If she lacks capacity it isn't something that can be learned. It's inherent with her disability and cannot be overcome.

If you equate those two things as the same you are far worse off than her.

shinigamieyes said... She’s not retarded 🙄 she’s capable of even getting a job through the interview process. It’s clearly lack of motivation that makes her quit

She is developmentally challenged. It's not that she isn't motivated. She demonstrates plenty of motivations. What she lacks is capacity. It's clear you cannot differentiate the two.

Capacity. It is lacking.

Why wouldn't they? Would they not check their employee's CV?

They don't check whether you are a reliable employee? 🤔 I have nothing to respond to with that

Re: Should I not get a job now?

She is wasting everyone's time. She doesn't have the capacity to hold down a job. Any job. She can't work.

Re: Should I not get a job now?

Ignore her. She's as retarded as the op.

I can see wanting to see the positive in people but when the facts say otherwise it's delusional and wishful.

Why don't you hire her then. Think she's a good risk?

That has nothing to with you saying above that is she is capable. Regardless of her history of quitting, would you employ Christina?

Re: Should I not get a job now?

Don’t know if you were around at the time or not. But she recently worked at a Chick fil-A. She lasted two shifts, before quitting, and deciding that she wanted to go into the hospitality industry, or something along those lines.

I think the problem goes well beyond mere laziness Monicah. At some point, Christina will probably end up being responsible for a public website (We’ll call it Christina’s List) that potential employers can check prior to hiring anyone, to insure that they’re not wasting their time.

Her profile would look something like this:

Lasted two shifts before quitting.

Worked 5 hours, then put in notice.

Quite prior to her first scheduled shift.

By now you probably get the point…

Conversely many people with disabilities can't. Christine is one of the latter.
