Rebecca on Netflix !!!

I had almost forgotten about it.
I'm watching it now. Anyone else? So far, not bad! 🙂👍

Re: Rebecca on Netflix !!!

Hitchcock's version will always be my favorite as well. On this, we can agree. He captured the mood of the book perfectly. I think it's a shame that he didn't win the Best Director Oscar for it, because without his direction, I don't believe it would have won Best Picture.
As for this Netflix adaptation, I have to say that I am impressed.
I liked it a lot. I'm not sure of what I was expecting.
I suppose that if your expectations are low, anything has to be better.

Re: Rebecca on Netflix !!!

I enjoyed it. I need to rewatch the original. I saw it only once when I was a child and I don’t remember a lot but I never forgot the “feel” of it. My daughter who never saw the original, really loved the new movie.
One nit-picky thing- I found Lily James’ blond hair awful and distracting.

Re: Rebecca on Netflix !!!

I had trouble with the ending.
I would rather they left the rest of their lives to our imagination.
I had hopes that they lived happily ever after, but it could have ended the way the first one ended… An R embroidered pillowcase going up in flames.@
