Question to Millard (but any Brit can chime in)

@Millard Rausch One of the countries I always planned on visiting is merry old England since most of my favorite authors and bands hail from there. Sometime in the next year or two, I will likely finally do it and have always been interested in Stonehenge but I’ve heard people say that visiting the site isn’t all that great. Is that true and I shouldn’t waste my time? And do you have any recommendations for things that I definitely should see while there?

Millard last went outside in the 80's. Back when he had a mullet.

Thank you for talking to me

Once, I poo'd in public getting off the bus on the side of the road behind some bushes. I should've called the police to help me clean it up.

Go to Big Ben.
Sneak up to where the bell is.
Stick your head in there when it rings.
Then post here what that experience was like.
Why do this?
Because why the bell not!

Will you be spending anytime with rent boys during your stay, sir?

Re: Question to Millard (but any Brit can chime in)

Don’t know what that means, but it sounds totally gay. I’m in!

Re: Question to Millard (but any Brit can chime in)

OK joking aside for the moment…

You can certainly visit old Stony, if you like, but I am the type of guy who prefers lesser known out of the way places.
There are other ancient ritual sites with stone circles or henge than just the one where you want to get stoned.

So I would go and check out as many of these as I could of those that are the closest to each other.
Like the one at Stanton Drew has three.
Or in places that would have other things to see such as #3.

Scroll down to read on the sites.

I did hear of some of those lesser sites and will definitely check out any that is feasible. Thanks for the link.

Have you posed this query at Flying Monkeys forum?

Re: Question to Millard (but any Brit can chime in)

Not yet. I usually only hit the pro board forums when I’m at work. I always have difficulty with those on my phone or home computer. Don’t really know why, but it’s way too much of a hassle to bother with.

Ah, okay 👍

Hmm, I’m not sure about Stonehenge, I’ve never been myself to be honest! You should defo come to the Peak District!

Re: Question to Millard (but any Brit can chime in)

Peak District. I’ll look into it. Thank you.

Re: Question to Millard (but any Brit can chime in)

I'm not British, but I've been to England twice, and Stonehenge is definitely
worth seeing! It's awe inspiring and mesmerizing.

Other Things to see in England:

Buckingham Palace
The Tower Bridge
Windsor Castle
The Houses of Parliament
Big Ben
The "Eye"
The British Museum

Stratford On Avon
Dover
Oxford
Canterbury

Re: Question to Millard (but any Brit can chime in)

Good list. I will have to save that and look into some before the time comes.

Re: Question to Millard (but any Brit can chime in)

You're welcome. Have fun.

Re: Question to Millard (but any Brit can chime in)

I've not been but my husband has, apparently you can't walk among the stones, he recommends visiting Avebury which is nearby and you can walk among the stones there. He said if stones are your thing visit Scotland.

I agree with Millard that the Peak District is stunning.

Depending on what you like there are tons of interesting houses, museums and Art Galleries throughout the UK. The Natural History museum, The Imperial War Museum, Tate, Leighton House, all worth a visit in London.
