Movie Awards : Oscar predictions

Oscar predictions

We'll do another "official" prediction after the nominates are released. This is before the nominees are released:

Best Film of the Year: Everything Everywhere all at Once

Best Screeplay: EEaAO

Best Director: Steven Speilburg, The Fabelmans. He's the Meryl Streep of Oscars, always nominated, won 3 or so times. He's due for his last Oscar.

Best Supporting Actress - Jamie Lee Curtis, EEAaO. Jamie wouldn't win this if she had won before, but I pick her due to the fact that she's an established reputable actress who has never been nominated before, and she's due.

Best Actor: Brendan Fraser, The Whale

Best Actress: Michelle Yeoh will win if Waymond doesn't win.
Best Actor: Waymond will win if Michelle Yeo doesn't win.

Monster, how should I feel? Creatures lie here, looking through the window.

Re: Oscar predictions

Dude, I stopped paying attention to that stuff two years ago. But whatever.

Re: Oscar predictions

That's a big night for all those satanic pedophiles.

I think I'll pass. They make me cringe.

Re: Oscar predictions

Will Smith will not slap anyone

Re: Oscar predictions

LOL, Oh Good Grief!

Re: Oscar predictions

The Oscars are completely irrelevant. Unless Will Smith shows up and slaps someone.

Best Supporting Actress: Kerry Condon (The Banshees of Inisherin)

Nooo. She was literally the 4th Best Acting performance in the film.

Maverick will sweep the sound and editing for sure, yes.

I think if cinematography will go to Banshees. That movie was BEAUTIFUL.

Re: Oscar predictions

It is beautiful. A truly cerebral experience

Well, this is a tomb. I'll make them feel at home

Re: Oscar predictions

Best pic should be Banshees and best supporting actor Barry Keoghan.

This has been an awful year for cinema

Well, this is a tomb. I'll make them feel at home

Re: Oscar predictions

Remember the music student who was told a lie about his father? Wouldn't it be a fantastic scene if they showed the man confront the bread truck company

"Which one of you killed my father? Was it you? (switches persons) Was it you? (Switches) It was YOU wasn't it?" You also killed my mother, too, didya like?"

The drivers have no idea what the man is up in arms about. Man draws knife, but ends up being stabbed in defence by one of the drivers instead.

Haha, missed opportunity for a funny yet dark scene, there.

Re: Oscar predictions

Nobody cares.

😺 Schrodinger's Cat walks into a bar, and doesn't. 😠 Let's go, Brandon! 🙂 I like cashews!

Re: Oscar predictions

I don't either.

That fucking thing is way the fuck overrated and meaningless.
The more that realize that the better.
Dunno why we have all these dumb dipshits that act like as if somehow it matters to them when it never does.
The only thing that would make me care is if they let the viewers vote.

Re: Oscar predictions

As a scholar and an intellectual, I disagree with you, kind sir.

The members who vote on these are intellects who have studied film extensively and know the ingredients that what constitutes a good motion picture. It's not all subjective.

I, too, share this. When I saw American Beauty, in theatres, I was completely blown away by it. I saw nothing like that before. I told my parents and everyone to see it. It ended up winning Best Picture and most others, so I was onto something.

I was able to predict Slumdog Millionaire would win Best Picture after seeing it at the cinema on a random whim. It did.

I posted here months ago that Everything, Everywhere All at Once would be up for Best Picture, and probably win. Well, now it's getting the most buzz. I called that one, too!

If it were entirely opinion-based and subjective, I wouldn't happen to know what films would be Oscar contenders. But objectively good films DO exist.

The only thing that would make me care is if they let the viewers vote.

Haha yea, and the best actor goes to, Kevin Hart!

Re: Oscar predictions

"Nobody cares."

🙄

Just based on the fact that you said "Nobody", if even just 1 person ends up watching it then you are going to look dumb.

Re: Oscar predictions

Why are you dumping Spielberg?

Re: Oscar predictions

He lost the DGA and the Critics Choice and was not nominated for BAFTA. There doesn't seem to be a lot of passion or support for him or The Fabelmans.

Re: Oscar predictions

He did win the Golden Globes though.
