Not recognizing someone is racist

"The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Kathy Hilton is under fire after mistaking Lizzo for "Precious," seemingly referencing the 2009 film starring Gabourey Sidibe."

https://www.eonline.com/news/1341716/kathy-hilton-facing-backlash-for-confusing-lizzo-with-gabourey-sidibe-as-precious

She was on that Andy Cohen show and they were showing her pictures of celebs. Said Lizzo was "Precious", so of course she's a racist now. Didn't recognize Ryan Reynolds or Justin Timberlake either, but that doesn't matter because "rAciSM!"

Do black people and white liberals really have no other card to play? For fuck's sake, it's as played out was Republicans calling everything they don't like fake, a hoax, or rigged.

Re: Not recognizing someone is racist

I couldn't find the reference to race.

That's too bad, a topic I'm interested in, Closet Racism.

Re: Not recognizing someone is racist

So what if they don't? Kathy Hilton, like most parents, doesn't know dick about modern pop culture.

Re: Not recognizing someone is racist

I think the only people making a big deal about it is this tabloid site and maybe a handful of people. Though, she does loop the type lol. Ultra rich old white bitch with plastic surgery. Gotta be racist lol.

Or she just doesn't recognize someone?

I've seen it on a few sites. Twitter too. I first caught it on Entertainment Tonight last night. The hosts, a black man and woman, were outraged. Said something like "Both women Kathy Hilton disrespected are amazing women."

Re: Not recognizing someone is racist

"Both women Kathy Hilton disrespected are amazing women."

That might be true, but they are both also obese black women and she probably wasn't fully aware of them as performers. Had she watched American Horror Stories she would no doubt have instantly recognised Sidibe. So she made a mistake, so what? If she had mistaken Ryan Reynolds for Justin Timberlake nobody would have batted an eyelid.

Funny thing is she didn't mistake them for someone else, she simply didn't recognize them period.

Re: Not recognizing someone is racist

Yeah, it's actually funny that nobody is calling it fatism, because it's probably the sheer size of those "amazing" women that made her confuse them not their color.

Re: Not recognizing someone is racist

You americans deserve a medal for having to live alongside white liberals and black americans. They have become absolutely insufferable.

Social media has emboldened them to create these grievance mobs and go after everything and anything that upsets them. It's horrible.

Re: Not recognizing someone is racist

Great post.

The real problem is the social media companies. They're run by liberals who moderate with extreme bias, but they didn't let us know that until everyone was using them. Now, if anybody builds an alternative, they flex their corporate muscles and either buy them out or get them shut down. It's now virtually impossible to express a conservative opinion without some form of a backlash. Expressing one in a formal, business capacity is fiscal suicide.

If people would just stop using social media we could all go back to being social creatures.

Re: Not recognizing someone is racist

Saying someone deserves a medal for living along side black people is an extremely cringe-worthy statements on the surface. If I heard someone say it, I'd be inclined to think they were a wee bit of a racist. But knowing what you're replying to? Yeah, I get it.

To actually go right to "rAciSM" because a white woman didn't recognize a black woman is just absolutely absurd.

Re: Not recognizing someone is racist

But knowing what you're replying to? Yeah, I get it.

Yeah. It's their victim culture I'm talking about, not their skin color.

The problem I have is that they export their victim culture everywhere now. Over here in Europe they have blacks in places like Scandinavia saying they "built this country" (even though there were no blacks in Scandinavia until the 1980s). Saying "we built this country" is what black americans say about the USA (cause, you know, they built that paradise known as Africa) and they're just copying what black americans do and say.

American Blacks claim all white people are inherently racist even if they're not racist ie "white privilege", "whiteness", CRT etc. These are mainstream terms, not something used merely by a fringe group of agitators. Blacks in Europe hear that poison and regurgitate the same things. I hear it everyday.

50-100 years from now our societies will become increasingly fractured because no one ever stands up to their victim culture for fear of being called racist. Egged on by white liberals, they just become emboldened and unbearable.

Re: Not recognizing someone is racist

I know (what you're point is).

We've moved backwards. We weren't this segregated 10, 5, 25, 35 years ago. And not only are we more segregated, it's OK as long as black people want it (which many do). Christ, I just saw a story on the local news about some kind Grub Hub or Door Dash knock off. It's a local business. Their catch? They only deliver food coming from black businesses. Can you imagine a white person saying that?!

Re: Not recognizing someone is racist

That's true. Social media encourages mass mobs and gives a voice to all the whiners who were otherwise kept in their box 10-30 years ago. The cancel stuff comes from all these rejects gathering online like a god damn lynch mob.

The new generations coming through, white liberals of course, but particularly non-whites who are raised mostly by single mothers to be very over-reactionary to every tiny thing.

But the moving backwards stuff is mostly to do with increasing multiculturalism. Human beings have a hard enough time getting along with each other when they all come from the same background, nevermind from dozens of different cultures and religions and everything else.

Haha, that's nuts. I saw something similar like that in a news report about America. Something about food in supermarkets having labels on it saying "from black owned farms" or something.

Re: Not recognizing someone is racist

I mean, her daughter has said some explicitly racist shit, and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. This alone isn't why I would think she's racist.

Re: Not recognizing someone is racist

She's a racist because her daughter said some things? Come on, man.

Re: Not recognizing someone is racist

No, dumbass. I'm saying that the fact that her daughter is nore explicitly racist lends credence to her being racist.

Re: Not recognizing someone is racist

Meanwhile, a source tells E! News Kathy "feels terrible" about the blunder.

"She gets a little nervous when she is on live TV," the source added. "Kathy is a very sensitive person and would never intentionally hurt anyone's feelings."

Another source told E!, "Kathy would never want to offend anyone at all. She doesn't know who anyone is."

That is good enough for me and it should be good enough for all the whites who get their panties in a bunch who want to lynch her.
