Movies w/ The Most (Pre) Stars?

Is there one that has more than "The Outsiders"? Tom Waits has a cameo and Leif Garret was already famous for being a pop singer, which is probably why he had a cameo transitioning into acting, But in 1982, there were a ton of somewhat unknowns who became huge stars very quickly.

-Ralph Macchio
-Patrick Swayze
-Tom Cruise
-Matt Dillon
-Rob Lowe
-Emilio Estevez

C. Thomas Howell was the lead character, narrator, but he's probably the least popular out of the bunch.

Good one!

Did you leave Ron Howard off on purpose?

And there was also Charles Martin Smith who played that geeky guy Toad.
While he was never a big star he is a recognizable character actor such as in Starman of which he was excellent in.

I thought of putting Ron Howard on the list, but then he was already well-known for playing Opie on "The Andy Griffith Show". Though "American Graffiti" was the precedent for the very popular tv show, "Happy Days", which, of course, starred Howard.

Exactly and what I figured.

I would say that AG launched his adult career.

How funny would it have been to have had a shark jumping scene in this movie as a sign of things to come!

I have heard the phrase "Jump the Shark" many, many times over the years and I've always known where it came from, but I never actually saw the episode in question, so I just now watched it on YouTube. Yee-gods! I always thought Fonzie was a big dork!

What gets to me about that scene is that of course Richie is the one driving the boat!
LOL
He probably never drove one before now.
It's an old TV trope of always having the main characters doing everything bringing up the old question of, "Is there anything they don't do?"
