The series also doesn't waste a single minute, packing each and every moment full of suspense. Put all of that together, and it's an early front-runner to steal a spot as one of the best shows of the year.

-Karen Han, Slate

The performances and the production keep the series warm even as the plot is made up of Rube Goldberg contraptions that require everything to go right at just the right time and for human psychology to be 100% predictable.

-Robert Lloyd, Los Angeles Times

Thus far, it's admittedly uneven, bookended by a pair of great stories, with its middle three chapters feeling various degrees of extraneous. But by the time it gets to where it's going in chapter 5, the wait feels mostly worthwhile. Rating: 7/10

-Siddhant Adlakha, IGN Movies

Basically, it exists at the precise midpoint between prestige TV and trashy nonsense. My only serious qualm is the lack of depth for supporting characters, especially women. Rating: 5/5
