Golden memories! That might be really worth watching.

I certainly reckon so NZer

Seemingly they have one for horror of the 80's out already which is meant to be good (4 hours long though!) which I've not seen but I might give it a look due to this one

It's certainly a genre crafted with extreme talent during those years.

Only 15 months more to go!

I thought the title had to be related. The horror one was great so I will probably watch this one too.

Great stuff Loki!

I know you are a fan of horror and the 80's certainly had a lot of fun with that genre and so I have high hopes for the science fiction movies from then.

Did Aliens or The Thing make it into the horror genre documentary they made that you watched?

The Thing was covered pretty well.

Re: In Search of Tomorrow - The Definitive Retrospective on '80s Sci-Fi movies

Good to hear because The Thing was right up there with David Cronenberg's Videodrome (And the 1991 movie Naked Lunch too!) and I think both are severely underrepresented within the horror effects aspect of the genre.

A quick shout out to the weird Dead Ringers by Cronenberg too but I'm not sure that falls under horror

Cronenberg gets some love, too.

I absolutely adore The Thing!

Re: In Search of Tomorrow - The Definitive Retrospective on '80s Sci-Fi movies

John Carpenter kicks ass on so many fronts but he's usually set aside as a science fiction director whereas I see so much more to his works.

I'll try and check out this horror genre documentary between now and next year Loki. Hopefully they are either still pressing it or have it as a digital download
