Agreed! The poor box office performance of Batman v Superman caused WB to change their overall business plan.

Even though it didn't change their franchise issues, they did scale back their budgets and their launch dates due to the poor box office performance and they ordered reshoots for Suicide Squad to change the tone.

Not going to see the movie sends the most direct message. The massive dislike via YouTube is just the icing on the cake.

I agree, 800 billion dollars worldwide would be a colossal victory of landslide proportions.

Batman V Superman had a budget of $250M, plus a marketing budget of $150M. The studio only receives 1/2 of the Domestic take, and about 1/3 of the Global take. That means to break even, it needs over $900M.

That is why it isn't considered a success and why $800M Worldwide is a disappointment. Ignoring those figures entirely, this was Batman AND Superman in the exact same movie for the first time ever. (The two most popular superheroes in the entire world). It should have made significantly more at the Box Office.

Now look at a movie like Deadpool, that cost $55M to make. The marketing budget isn't available, but let's just use BvS's (even though there's no way it was advertised as heavily). That means that it cost approximately $200M and made around $750M. Half of the domestic take practically covers the entire cost right there.

Batman V Superman should have been over $1B easily. But it failed to do that.

It didn't even make that much. My guess they will make $200 million worldwide, TOPS. And that's IF they are REALLY lucky. It could be less than that, but I don't see it breaching that threshold. Not unless either France, Spain, South Korea or Japan somehow rescues them with a magic number.unfortunately, magic does not exist in this world, so there goes that idea.

I most certainly will not pay to watch it but if the cinemas' are giving tickets away then I'll go for it. The 3rd trailer seemed alright to seem albeit nothing was actually funny.

Using Transformers as an analogy is a perfect example. It grosses over $1B at the box office, and the studio considers it a success and just rehashes the same story over and over again.

Guaranteed if Ghostbusters 2016 is a success, they will create more of this garbage without changing anything to it. Same poor CGI, same terrible "jokes", same stereotypes, same disrespect.
