Halloween III: Season of the Witch : I remember my friend describing this movie to me over the phone….

I remember my friend describing this movie to me over the phone….

when it was playing at the local "$1.00" theater in town back in 1982. He had just seen it.
Neither of us were slasher fans BUT we did like movies like "Phantasm" and "Dawn of the Dead".
But as he described the plot to me all I kept thinking was that "Oh the Halloween/ Michael Meyers fans are not going to be happy about this" LOL. They must have been pissed at the time. Still - a weird and unique movie a la Dan O' Bannon's "Dead and Buried". And more memorable than another dumb sequel--right?

I would certainly agree that it was better than another Michael Myers sequel. Of course, they went right back MM after this one, but for a change of pace, I like HIII a lot. It's my second favorite of the series, actually. As a matter of fact, it's difficult for me to even consider it in the context of the Halloween series, as radical of a departure as it was from the others. I would say I enjoy this one as a different type of horror movie.
