Re: I miss Robin Williams
I miss Robin Williams
You are not alone.
You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.
Fasten Your Seatbelts….
It's Going To Be A Bumpy Night!
Re: I miss Robin Williams
Do you have a favorite movie/performance of his?
Re: I miss Robin Williams
Too many to count, but just off the top of my head? One Hour Photo.

Re: I miss Robin Williams
Exactly.
He was so out there funny in almost everything, but then you see him in something like One Hour Photo, Insomnia, or how about the doctor in Awakenings?
He has done a number of movies against type, but these are seldom mentioned. They are proof of the fine actor he really was.

Re: I miss Robin Williams
I haven't seen the gold routine, but I have read and heard Gary Marshal's account of Robin's audition. Sitting on one's head makes perfect from an alian's point of view.

You miss a dead fag irish jew?
Re: I miss Robin Williams
I miss him, too. He gave so much heart in all his performances. And I know what you mean about feeling his loss in the world even though you didn't know him. When M.C. Beaton died, I felt a great loss in the same way, which I found odd at the time. Her real name was Marion Chesney Gibbons and she was a writer. She wrote under many pseudonyms. I was a fan of her cozy murder mysteries featuring Agatha Raisin and Hamish MacBeth, which she wrote as M.C. Beaton.
But back to Robin Williams. Yes, he was one of the greats. An unforgettable actor and I'm not sure if he was ever given enough credit for what he could do.

We all miss him.

Snape from Harry Potter and Sweeney Todd and Alice in Wonderland died from cancer.
2 other people who worked with Tim Burton already died: Christopher Lee and the guy who produced The Sound of Music, which I am watching for the 4th time in a row right now.

Christina, you are a bit too fixated on death. You gonna be alright?
Re: I miss Robin Williams
Hopefully, I just got an interview at Panera Bread tomorrow.

Did anybody see Robin Williams when he was on "INSIDE THE ACTOR's STUDIO" ?
He was Hilarious!

Re: I miss Robin Williams
Yes!! I was fortunate to have seen that episode. That’s when I really observed his brilliance. James Lipton was such an important host of that show. He was able to pull out the actors or directors talent in the most subtle ways, so that the viewers could observe raw talent that the artist refined as their career progressed.
Re: I miss Robin Williams
LOL, I like how in that Episode with Robin Williams, it took James Lipton 5 minutes (after Robin Williams came out on stage) before he could ask his first question.
LOL, That interview was supposed to be about Robin Williams life and career and instead, Williams turned it into a GREAT standup event.

Re: I miss Robin Williams
Right!! I noticed that right away as well. What I enjoyed so much about Robin’s performance in that session was how easy it was for him to improv. None of it seemed awkward at all, and he went from one to another in quick succession. The ideas he came up with were fresh and unique. Some of it I was like, how did he go from this concept to that seemingly unrelated concept? Eventually I just couldn’t follow because then I was laughing out loud. I was laughing out loud more watching him do his own improv for The Actor’s Studio, and tailored for them? I guess?
Anyways, Robin made me laugh more that time than he has in the scripted movies and tv series I’d seen star in.

Re: I miss Robin Williams
I always liked this video of Robin Williams when he was standing on a stage performing for the troops when he suddenly had to stop for a moment because….well, it is in this video below.
Re: I miss Robin Williams
Oh. I didn’t know what to think about that. It seems like everyone loved Robin Williams just as he was. I was stunned to hear about his suicide. For a moment, I thought perhaps the medical examiner or whoever declared the cause of his death was wrong.
Re: I miss Robin Williams
The Fisher King is a very special movie of his.
Re: I miss Robin Williams
I also really liked him on that Episode of "WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY" that he did.
Re: I miss Robin Williams
That made me laugh SO hard! They were all brilliant.

Re: I miss Robin Williams
Yeah I used to watch some of that series when I could.
Colin Mocharie was my favorite improv comedian on that show. Wayne Brady was my second favorite followed by Drew Carey the host.

I actually liked all of them.
I thought that they all did a Fantastic Job on the show.

Re: I miss Robin Williams
Why do you have to say his name?! I missed that man. I grew up watching him and I remember a few movies made my side hurt.
I heard they were going to create the sequel to Mrs. Doubtfire, which is absolutely my favorite film and I was excited to see what they will do in the sequel until there were news announced his death. Such a shame. Oh, well.
If I get pulled over, it better be a gay policeman riding on a unicorn.

Re: I miss Robin Williams
My favorite movie Robin made will always be The Birdcage. I still laugh out loud while watching that movie. It has all the right jokes and done so respectfully to the queer community.
Re: I miss Robin Williams
So do I 😔
Re: I miss Robin Williams
Who doesn't?
The current environment co-vid/streaming would have been perfect for him.

I miss Robin Williams
The world could use more Robin Williams. It actually emotionally affects me knowing he is not around anymore when I think about it. Anybody can relate?
