How do women feel when they’re ghosted?

I just buy a ouija board and text him again.

No idea. Never experienced it. I'd probably sit with erica with that ouija board.

I can't imagine that feels good, for a man either.

Re: How do women feel when they’re ghosted?

I've never been ghosted. That's mainly something that women do to men, no?

Well, I lied. I have been ghosted, but the person doing the ghosting was actually dead and I didn't find out about it until his parents contacted me a day later.

Oh dear!
Did you feel a liitle relieved, like ah he wasn't ignoring me he was actually dead?

My heart bleeds for him, as a child. Someone took a kid and manufactured a monster. At the same time, as an adult, he's irredeemable.

Re: How do women feel when they’re ghosted?

He was my best friend at the time, and had been going through a really rough patch. He had multiple suicide attempts under his belt, and severe liver/kidney damage as a result of them. He often called me, threatening to kill himself if his life didn't get better or if I stopped talking to him.

One night, I didn't take his call. I was already in a Skype call with my friends, and they, knowing about the situation with him, discouraged me from taking it. I listened to them, and declined the call. I texted him several times that night and the next morning, but received no response. I found out from his father that he had died of an overdose that night.

I drowned in guilt for a long while after that, wondering if he'd still be alive if I had just taken his call. It wasn't until I saw the final episode of "Haunting of Hill House," actually, in which Nell forgives her sister for declining her call the night she died because she had answered her calls 'so many times' before, that I learned to forgive myself.

So, no, not relieved in that way…but overall, I'm now happy he didn't have to suffer slowly through the painful death that his failing kidneys and liver would have brought him, I guess.

Re: How do women feel when they’re ghosted?

Fuck, that's tough.
I think it's natural when someone dies, whatever the circumstances, to do the "what if" scenario. I know I did, mum died of cancer (maybe I could have made her go to the doc sooner) dad died of heart attack and he actually phoned me the night before he died telling me a family friend was in hospital and telling me I should send her a card, he then said "give my love to [granddaughters name]
My last words to him were "you have a grandson too", I was pissed with him.

Suicide vs natural death? Either way it's a kick in the teeth for those left behind.

Re: How do women feel when they’re ghosted?

Those really are the things that haunt us forever. It takes so long to forgive ourselves for those things when, in reality, there's no way we could have ever known that would be the last interaction we had with that person.

Your dad knew full well that you loved him when he passed, no matter if you were angry or not. It's always our dearest loved ones who most easily get under our skin, no?

I am sorry you had to lose both parents to horrible medical events like that. That's one of my greatest fears. You're a strong woman, you are.

Re: How do women feel when they’re ghosted?

You're absolutely right. It's never fair to blame ourselves, but we all do it, solely because we're desperately trying to find something that could have prevented the hurtful event.

I'm happy you learned to see it that way. It takes time to do.

Re: How do women feel when they’re ghosted?

Did you know the creators/writers of Haunting of Hill House, husband and wife duo Mike Flanagan and Kate Siegal, also wrote Hush, where Siegal starred in it, and also wrote and directed Doctor Sleep. And, Flanagan tends to cast Henry Thomas (ET) in most of his works.

Monster, how should I feel? Creatures lie here, looking through the window.

Re: How do women feel when they’re ghosted?

I didn't know that! I loved Dr. Sleep. It's no wonder, now.
