Ever See a Movie on LSD?

If so, which movies? Could you describe it (not the movie)?

(I never have…. don't think I could watch any TV under the influence)

Re: Ever See a Movie on LSD?

Yup:

- Shrek
- Alice in the Wonderland
- Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
- Baby Boss

How would I describe it: IT WAS AN ADVENTURE!! No seriously… it is just REALLY confusing and Baby Boss was so complex for me that I started to freak out and want to throw the TV on the floor lol. My friend stopped me… fortunately.

Re: Ever See a Movie on LSD?

i tried before it kicked in. when i was about to peak, i lost the plot and got distracted real bad and moved on doing other things. we saw this film: Belladonna of Sadness. it's very trippy on its own, and definitely the first 30-45 min were fun but also a bit overwhelming (it's very sexually explicit and evil at that).

Re: Ever See a Movie on LSD?

Heavy Metal, in the theater at a midnight screening, involving a hang on for your life motorcycle ride to and from the venue as a passenger.

The dose was too low to have much of an effect, alas. Maybe that's for the best.

I couldn't wait to see your sensitive snowflake's break down here.

So you all heard that guys: Take acid once, and you are a desperate drug addict without a future!

P.S.: I love it when the person with the unpopular opinion thinks that she gets to set the rules and say to people to "get out" lol.

Re: Ever See a Movie on LSD?

I saw part of Home in Indiana (1944) one time, after dropping a few hits of scrubbing bubbles. It was long enough ago, that the younger actors (Lon McCallister, June Haver, and Jeanne Crain) were still among us, so I don’t remember much about it.

Though it made somewhat of a lasting impression on me, and ever since, I’ve had an affinity for race tracks and equestrian stables. Then again, I spent a large part of my youth on equestrian stables, so that might be another reason for it.

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

Re: Ever See a Movie on LSD?

The first time I saw Grease was at a theater when it first came out.
I dropped some acid. I went with a few friends.
While it's a cute movie, that first time was so much better and far more interesting.

Re: Ever See a Movie on LSD?

Never seen a movie in the theatre on acid. Is the experience worth it?

Re: Ever See a Movie on LSD?

Shit tons of times mort… like multi dozens

Some of my favs…

Anything Lynch or Kubrick. The odd thing is that without strong hallucinogens…I really don't care for either film makers offerings.

Twelve Monkeys…first time seeing it was on four hits of black pyramid gels…it peeled my skull open

Gone with the wind…comedy masterpiece 👍

The wizard of Oz… started watching it in the nude with some folks…ended up banging this chick right around meeting the Tim man… great time 😁

Gummo…😲

Beetlejuice… cinema magic! (There needs to be a rabbit in a top hat emoji

The original starwars trilogy

Grind house and pulp fiction… Quinton knows how to make flicks for dosing 😃

Re: Ever See a Movie on LSD?

Lynch's work should indeed be quite an experience on acid!!!

Re: Ever See a Movie on LSD?

Re: Ever See a Movie on LSD?

I’d bang

Gone

Re: Ever See a Movie on LSD?

I’ve seen too many on LSD to remember.

Some of them were

No Country for Old Men
The Thin Red Line
Several Disney movies
2001
Mandy
Tideland

So many more..

You’ll never get as invested in a movie as you do when watching it on acid.

Even more so if you wait until the acid wears off a bit and then smoke some weed (you have to avoid smoking any earlier in the day though).

Re: Ever See a Movie on LSD?

I've tried, but I had no interest in watching movies, even 12 hours after my trip. I tried this with a few Bergman movies. I remember the night well…

I couldn't even watch stand-up! But I would spend about 15 hours in a chat room, especially if the guy I riff with was in the room. I notice the joy of LSD depended on if he was around, because the shit we do was like LSD even being sober. Free associating, stream of consciousness, as well as taking what was being said live, and quickly (almost like competition) assemble that into a movie quote, music artist/song, lyrics..

One that just struck me was when the topic was over the wall. I said, "All in all he's just another prick with no wall" quoting my favorite band, Pink Floyd.

Someone was arguing about their neighbor and COVID, and he said, "Thou shall not COVID thy neighbor's goods"

During the George Floyd arguments (pro and con, since the room is made up of mostly 2-party bullshit), I had posted

Pink Floyd - Breathe (well, actually Floyd didn't breathe much, but his face might have turned Pink)

"You ain't black…. unless Kamala Harris throws you in prison"

It's been a month since I've tripped. I miss it, but being up 24 hours was a bit much for the not so great stuff I was getting at that time. But I got one geltab last June, and it was the best, wonderful. My brain seems to work better when it came to chat… Of course, I've ALWAYS listened to music, but before last summer, I was always out in nature, and it was nice to change it up.

I really hope I can trip (possibly for the first time) in winter… It's a change in scenery, I have central heat (can't stand the loud noise of the window AC), because 2 feet of snow looks nice, but mostly because the neighborhood was silent… No sound of neighbors or their barking dogs.

Re: Ever See a Movie on LSD?

I misunderstood your OP to mean movies about LSD, in which case I was reminded of a couple of films I've seen on TCM that dealt with LSD. One of them was The Big Cube (1969), starring none other than Lana Turner; the other was The Trip (1967), starring Peter Fonda and Bruce Dern. Both are (obviously) dated and at times a little corny, but are still pretty interesting viewing even today, half a century later.

Re: Ever See a Movie on LSD?

I still haven't seen "The Trip".. I should check to see if I have Nicholson on automatic DVR. Thanks for the reminder.

Re: Ever See a Movie on LSD?

It's also on YouTube -

Are you okay?

Re: Ever See a Movie on LSD?

Thanks. Many times YouTube has the rare movies, but I check the usual suspects.

Just wish Bruce Dern wasn't in it. He always seems deranged. He was deranged before "Coming Home" :)

Re: Ever See a Movie on LSD?
