Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker : Poll: Do you think JJ Abrams was in an Impossible Situation with "EPISODE 9" ?

Do you think JJ Abrams was in an Impossible Situation with "EPISODE 9" ?

Because of what Rian Johnson did with Episode 8 of the "STAR WARS" Sequel Trilogy and because of the constant changes that Kathleen Kennedy wanted with the story and the script for Episode 9 (I don't know if it's true but I heard that during filming of Episode 9, Kathleen Kennedy kept wanting JJ Abrams and Chris Terrio to make changes and re-writes with the story and the script for the Movie, I know that Terrio actually said about a year after the Movie came out that he had never done more re-writes on a Movie than he did with "THE RISE OF SKYWALKER"), Do you yourself think that JJ Abrams and Chris Terrio were really in an Impossible Situation overall when it came to writing the story and the script for Episode 9 of the "STAR WARS" Sequel Trilogy, making the Movie, and trying to deliver to fans a Good "STAR WARS" Movie ?

Johnson totally altered the trajectory of the trilogy. He clearly changed Rey's origins and left the series without a villain. People bitch about Palpatine coming back, but with Snoke dead and Ren absolutely going to be redeemed, WTF was Abrams supposed to do? I think The Rise of Skywalker is pretty damn good all things considered.

Agreed and I do think that JJ Abrams and Chris Terrio did try their best despite everything that had happened (what Rian Johnson did with Episode 8) and was happening (Kathleen Kennedy constantly wanting changes and re-writes to the story and script while the Movie was being filmed if that actually did indeed happen).

I'm not even an episode TLJ hater, despite it being my least favorite of that trilogy. But yeah it didn't mesh with the other 2; in both tone and story. It just went in a totally different direction. The Rise of Skywalker was a course correction.
