Did Disney pay IMDb to delete the boards?

Due to the increasing number of people who are now waking up and realizing how badly Disney have ruined the Star Wars franchise, and how terrible their MCU is, do you think Disney paid IMDb to delete the boards in an attempt to try and silence us? To make sure they can keep selling their billion dollar movies to idiots?

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the case. Well it won't work for me. I will continue to be vocal in discussion platforms and I encourage you all to do so as well. Don't let Disney/IMDb win.

Ciao,

Roberto

What were the two highest grossing movies of last year?

"In this scene, you will gargle with mouthwash! And...action!"

Re: Did Disney pay IMDb to delete the boards?

I don't know, probably Rogue One and the Avengers, which proves my point. They're making a lot of money and they don't want anything threatening that, even if it's relatively small.

Ciao,

Roberto

Both new films made over a billion dollars and had mostly positive feedback, you dumb bitch.

Where do butterflies go when it rains? Who goes around & tucks in the trains?

Read out loud after me "my own personal subjective opinion is not the opinion of the masses" and "imdb posters, whiny young fanboy types and trolls, is certainly NOT the average person or anywhere near the majority". Of course they haven't ruined SW since the movies are doing enormously well even by SW standards, have gotten ok critical acclaim, very good legs indicating audience like/love etc. Doesn't mean we got a bunch of pedantic overly sensitive nostalgia fueled haters. Hey I am partly part of it (didn't care for TFA much at all, grew up in the late 70s and adored SW, and while I liked Rogue One I hated the cheesy last act that reportedly the studio had replaced/refilmed). I am NOT the norm. Neither are you.

On what exactly are you basing your "increasing number" comment? I have yet to see a single poster change their minds from these discussions. The uber-fans stay fanboys, the "hey it's ok" stay in their neutral corner and the haters stay haters.

Hey I don't doubt that companies try to influence Joe Public with a variety of methods. But I don't think a single paid shill was on these boards. Simply not profitable way to use a company's money. There are far better ways to influence the masses since we are soooo few who hang out here and we (on average) are extreme film nerds who will watch almost all big budget movies anyways.

Additional thoughts?

Re: Did Disney pay IMDb to delete the boards?

They deleted them because Hollywood was entering the metoo era and Imdb's brand could have been damaged by the very non-politically correct content that was prevelant on their boards. Many websites have removed their comments sections for the same reason.

Re: Did Disney pay IMDb to delete the boards?

Good point. That is very likely as well.

They want to push all the discussion to social media and places like reddit filled with shills, so they can easily control the discussion.

Re: Did Disney pay IMDb to delete the boards?

Hmm. Another logical, and highly probable theory.

😺 Schrodinger's Cat walks into a bar, and doesn't. 🤨 Let's go, Brandon! 🤨 Try that in a small town.

Hmmm. I'm not usually into conspiracy theories, but that is a very logical and highly probable explanation.

This thread is a classic. Nobody like these guys around anymore.

The poster, Volk was more on target regarding the issues. There were way too many trolls on the message boards hating on Hollywood at the time.

Re: Did Disney pay IMDb to delete the boards?

No. That conspiracy theory stuff is pure horseshit.

Yes, this is really me.
